Nothing I can add to a song or reaction like that, just beautiful!! I'll use this comment to say something I've been thinking since becoming a sub last week, hope it's not too personal, but I think I've officially hit old head status, especially because I'm seeing things in younger folks that remind me of things from my life, like it was yesterday, IDK it's hard to explain so...... You two, and I say this with my chest, as manly as I can, have to be the cutest couple I've seen in a long long time!! And I don't just mean an attractive couple, which you are, but you two just oooze that you belong together ya know, like those couples you meet once in a while that you know the second you meet them....yeah, that's it there, they were meant to be together, no cap......ya feel me? I don't know if it was the fact I was a paramedic for almost 30yrs, or what, but I got real good at reading people, and I get a real good read and positive vibe on you two, but if that skill is still working properly after retiring last year, I get a sense that as perfect as you are for each other, you also get on each others nerves and fight like you were trying to the best at it, am I right?? I know all couples fight, just saying, I see a lot of passion in you two, and that usually flows over into the arguments too. Listen, I don't have any magical words or secret advice to give ya, no answers that will make everything work out, all I can tell you is what not to do, from a guy that refused to recognize his ptsd and other issues until it was too late. Not that you guys have issues, like that nor is it my business, but just in general, in those times when you want to rip each others heads off, or light their shit on fire in the front yard and post it on the socials, just breath, take a deep breath and go for a walk, play a video game, listen to music, just find a neutral corner and wait it out. I took the one that was perfect for me, for granted, and assumed we'd always be fine, until one day we weren't, just don't let that day come for you guys is all I'm saying, cause honestly, what I see in you two, I rarely see anymore, and when i do, I gotta support it anyway I can, I don't want to see others have regrets that I do. A wise man once said..."Show me a couple that's been married 30-40yrs, and I'll show you two people that learned to take an L for the one they love and learned the value of compromise " ✌️💚
Wow! That was deep.. I really appreciate that you can see how happy we make each other.. This woman is my everything.. She traveled 2,110 miles 6 times to be with me talk about making it work.. She is a generation younger than I am.. Yet the most understanding sweet soul I have ever met.. I'm hyper she's calm.. She's my peace.. It doesn't matter what's going on when I hear her voice I become calm.. It's crazy because every word you wrote really sums up our relationship and how you were able to see that from a few videos shows you are in tuned with the universe and people.. And the fact that you spent the most expensive thing you can spend.. which is your time to watch and write this detailed comment is humbling.. Thank you for expressing your genuine thoughts publicly it's not easy for us men to do that which shows me you are a real one.. Love and respect stay Blessed.. P.S Brittney came running to me to show me this comment and made sure when she read it she made sure I stopped everything I was doing before she read it because she wanted me to hear every word you wrote.. Now I say this with my chest, as well as a man.. I choked up as she was reading it
I too am 6ft plus inked up and built like a brick s**t house and every time I tear up listening to this! It brings back memories of my losing by brother nearly 40 years ago! I was a teenager and it was my first real experience of death! So much and heartache for those left behind! I certainly made me grow up.
And me my friend this guy is very very special and mean that! He pulls my strings I never cried at my dads funeral this special person basically made me grieve I have so much respect for the greatest artist on this planet and that’s a fact ❤
60 two, here I play guitar and sing and write motorcycles and live in the mountains. But every song that ren sings is deep and real, and just rips me apart.
Ren is bardcore - a master of all genres, many instruments and many singing styles from spoken word, opera, rap, hip-hop, and classical. He's an enigma and tortured genius. Yet still a flawed human being like the rest of us. Great reaction keep going down the Ren rabbit hole.
Bardcore is still the best genre description for Ren. I've been a "Shakespeare freak" since I was young, and Ren gives me all the same vibes--a deep understanding of what makes us humans tick.
Absolutely do Loosing It next. I wanted you to see this. Because, he took a song of pain and turned it into one of HEALING. It was a stunningly beautiful tribute to his dear friend. Joe Hughes, the legend. There is something you should read in the description. It's beautiful. Bring the tissues.
This song is a mash up of a few different songs from Ren done on a piano (not used before). Ren does mash ups blending songs together as good or better than anyone I have ever watched... "For Joe, Su1c1de, and Freckled Angles" are all songs blended here. Ren played this song for Joe's family recently and donated 7000 pounds to his family. They bought an RV to travel and named it... Joe. I recommend "How To Be Me" by -Ren and Chinchilla LIVE (Not lyric video)!! It is also about Joe. I tell you that now because the information is not given in the songs and helps add dept and understanding. I REALLY think you would connect with that song... It is song mesmerizing and haunting... Edit: 1:34 There is nothing to call Ren. There is no "Style, category, label, or box he fits in. He is a stylebending bard who tells stories through song and dance. I get chills on SO many Ren songs even though I have heard them 50 times. 4:56 GREAT job Bri! This is what happened. Hence the line, "I think about that sometimes, vividly; what it looked like to look down and see tranquility"... Ren wanted to look down and see his friend in the water. Instead he saw nothing...Hence the line, "Body missing so we never got to wave to the hearse..." Ren said going through this may have saved his own life because he couldn't hurt his friends again like they were after this.
"...my childhood jumped too" doesn't mean, that he became a man that night, it just mean he lost his childhood with all its lightheartedness and carelessness.
I find it very fitting that when you commented on him taking a pause from building you up to the point of tears and it knocks you back down… After you check out some of his more fun songs. Losing it. Is a great change of pace and energy. Really shows off in that. The love music parts 1-4 in order. As they build off one another. 2 and 3 are my favorite. These just show is pen game and range. Once you have that breather come back and check out his song Dominoes. It is one of his most underrated songs but hits me like a truck every time I hear it cause it’s so real and ties back to the start of my comment. Keep enjoying the Ren rabbit hole. You never know what your gonna get.
Awesome reaction. I bawl my eyes out everytime I see someone react to this one. And you are right , Ren is so unique. I'm in my 50's and I seriously haven't been THIS excited about an artist since the 80's/90's.
I am obsessed with Ren. I'm 59. I watch every Ren video reaction I find. Hundreds by now, I'm sure! I know the words to Hi Ren and Chalk Outlines by heart.. I STILL CRY AT BOTH EVERY SINGLE TIME!! I have never encountered anything or anyone like Ren in my lifetime. We've been blessed to witness and enjoy pure genius and brilliance so rare... Much love! ❤ I'm just soaking it all into my soul!!
The thing about REN is he put feeling and emotions of reality we have all experienced.. the ups and downs of our existence we call life.. he captures it with his beats, lyrics, live performances. He is a refreshing take on what our passion in life is all about Connecting,. He reminds us to be good humans to one another.. All tides, raise ships.. is a message I heard him once say. It captured me in the moment to realize that we should be more grateful for the things we have and the people we have in our lives.. if we can’t live together on this floating rock, then how will we create a future for generations to come.. RENegades,Avengers show the channel love..
Agreed about Losing It next, our poor girl needs a BIG SMILE for sure!!❤ you guys are great, and made me well up with tears and I've seen this too many times that i should be able to power thru by now, but NOPE!😢😂
Bri we don't want you to cry, we want you, like all of us, to know that if we do cry, we all got your back, because the renegades, look out for each other. Love and Light to you both x
Been watching you for 3yrs now. Shes like me wanting to do the deep stuff.. Ren has such a large catalog that you can switch between the tough songs and the fun ones!
love your reactions and energy, if you want some lighter hearted stuff i recommend his band: The Big Push, especially I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop (the one with the red suspenders), his bands also a great rabbit hole. also please ren x chinchilla - Chalk Outlines (the live version)
I feel it everytime but when he says and "and my freinds they are the fondest" i tear up. I think about the dead homies all the time and the amazing memories i made with them.
He's made us all cry a few times. For me its not the songs that hit me.. It is the special things he does, the statements he puts out and his words that hit me. Like his 1 million sub thank you, his King Dotta Diss, the end of Hi Ren. The mans heart is his greatest instrument!
I call him talented AND creative. They don't always go together. I have seen that combination, being 70 and living through the hugely creative 60s/70'/80s. Having said that, i dont remember anyone having the combination of so many talents. Pink Floyd come to mind with their fabulous live shows , but not many had the variability in their voice.
Ren is the GOAT. That's what you call him.😁 Look I'm a 50 year old man and Ren has made me cry many times. There are many fun songs, tear jerker songs, and many others. He does it all, literally.
This song brings me to tears every time I hear it. You hear the pain Ren is still going through all these years later. It shows the regret he has for not being there when he was needed. Ren is simply in a class of music all by himself, and we are all blessed to have the opportunity to hear it. The best thing that ever happened to him is losing the contract from Sony. That way he has the ability to share his creativity with the World. Great reaction to such an emotional video. Also the second verse is from his song Dominoes and the third verse is from his song Freckled Angels. Both are tributes as well to Joe.
" What would you call Ren " A Revelation in the World of Music . Loving you choices. Humble or Losing it , however to really lift you up " Bongo Bong " The Big Push the band Ren is in!
This song is very emotional and especially for people who lost someone to suicide and people like myself with depression who's been there. Ren is just amazing, there's nothing he can't do and best of all playing the guitar and piano is all self taught. Loved your reactions to Ren, you should check out Dominoes one of his older songs from like 4 years ago but still just as good.
He is a natural born musician. Like Prince was, being able to play multiple instruments very well and also the voice that had a very broad range. A musical genius.
@ROMsquad Most of the Ren fans a.k.a. renegades consider him a modern version of a Bard or Minstrel from medieval times. They would tell stories through music and use language as a tool to guide the listeners through those stories in a such spectacular way it was almost like they were there. Ren is the modern version of that because he not only is amazing at telling his stories but channels them through all the styles, genres and artists he has taken inspiration from and molds it into his own work to portray whatever message he is trying to portray at any given time. Whether it be a deep meaningful one, or a light hearted goofy one just for people to have fun. I truly hope he stays an independent artist forever so none of that can be tainted. And I hope when his album gains mega success it inspires more and more artists to branch out and make their art as their own without feeling like they have to submit to a major label just to do what they love. Sorry this was very long winded. Lol. Anyways glad you’re enjoying the Ren Rabbit hole. You should check out his friend CHINCHILLA’s music. I think you both would love her girl boss energy especially in the song Little Girl Gone. She’s a fuckin badass and definitely would be a nice palette cleanser to help bring some happy energy back.
You actually kinda quoted another song of Ren’s, Dominoes, when you were talking about the pause he used. Glad you guys have been exploring his music. You never know what to expect!
I highly recommend checking out Scroobius Pip when you can. Another UK artist who raps, but is a poet first and foremost. A lot of his lyrics hit and hold so much truth to them. Ren reminded me of him and I feel as though a lot of UK artists get lost in the mix, especially independent artists. Thanks to Ren, he has opened the door for independent artists to show their worth and proven what hard work can accomplish.
I invented a very dangerous drinking game: take a sip every time you hear "know what I'm sayin'" or "I ain't gonna lie"... I tried doing a shot each time, but I don't remember getting to the end of the reaction, and when I woke up the next day some stuff was broken and now I have a parrot.
😂🤣 "I ain't gonna lie".. this is the funniest comment we've ever seen "know what I'm sayin' ".. Yea you really screwed yourself with that dangerous drinking game because your new pet parrot is probably right now sayin "I ain't gonna lie, know what I'm sayin" 😂 thanks for the comment love and respect
Subbed! I've seen For Joe many times, and it always gets my tear ducts flowing. (And I'm a 6' 5" lumberjack!! Well, not really--but I have done a lot of yard work, lol.)
Bri is right that older people often can handle grieve better than younger people. It's life experience. As we age, we learn to handle emotions a bit better. If we don't, then life becomes misery. (I say this as a member of that "older people" group.)
I don't think we want to see anybody cry. We want everybody to understand that at times we all feel the same and that if up for it it is okay to show, share and reach out. Reactions like this one from the two of you will help others not to become too numb. Your sad but relatable remark made me think of 'comfortably numb' by Pink Floyd, you should listen to it. I am glad you have found each other to lessen that numb feeling or at least be able share it when needed.
If you watch the Knox interview Ren intellectually and logically knows there wasn’t anything he could have done that night but emotionally is another thing… the empty cup. But notice there is a bottle of light (lights) to fill the empty cup. The previous produced video was dark and filled with pain and frustration. This starts with that pain but continues with what Joe and all his actions has taught and given Ren. That bottle of light to fill the empty cup. Not only a crafted masterpiece but preformed extremely well with the help from Sam.
Guys there’s a whole rollercoaster to experience with Ren. Deep songs that crush our hearts, songs that make you dance, from reggae vibes to dance bangers and a sprinkling of rock in some songs. Highly recommended ‘The Hunger, Murderer (both live and acoustic), ‘Fire’, ‘Crutch(very emotional) and ‘Chalk outlines’
I'm 36 years old I've been to 2 weddings and 34 funerals and I've come to the conclusion that you need to cry... For a long time I was numb, but that shit never helps... Just let it out❤
Yeah, you should take a break from the heavy ones (he has more great ones though). "Losing it", "The Hunger", his retro tribute "What You Want" or "Power" will lift up your mood. He has some heavy duets with an artist named Chinchilla, but you may want to check her out solo first. I would probably start with "Little Girl Gone".
A lot of Renegades can be extra, don’t let it get you down. Your reactions are real and there isn’t anything wrong with the way you guys do it. Bri, I really think you will like Chinchilla 5:1. Do the live version. I love watching your guys progression down the rabbit hole. Another MUST listen is Insomnia. I know with your ongoing issues with sleep I really think you will resonate with it.
He’s a Artist. A musician actor rapper producer . To many mediocre people are called artists and it’s frustrating because as a species we are capable of great things but we settle for dopes. Plaster caster is a band aid
ren is a story teller in beautiful way. trying to let you feel what other ppl go trough. his story telling reminds me so much of a metal artist Johnathan Davis. both went trough hell but make insane songs to help others.
I like that you guys agreed that he is an artist, but then when you're trying to comprehend his talent on instruments, his acapella that's what's called acapella and then transition into rap. It's not an artist that becomes a performer. The question you asked what is he? The answer is performance art, not an artist. He's a performer that makes you question. What art really is performance art come up to the great white north there and kick me right in the shins if I'm wrong but it's performance before the art. It's all about the performance. The art was already there. Now let's perform the art big difference😮
Ren was also in a band called the big push I recommend listening to I shot the sheriff road to Zion hip-hop and war pigs straight after,if you want a punch in the face lol 🤣🤣🤣
