Thanks for all you are sharing, great reactions. Love your energies and looking forward to seeing how far you go. Everyone lifts up in the World of Ren
I'm getting hooked on your guys reactions to Ren, great reaction! Bard is a word describing a traditional poet that sings epic tails, so Bardcore is a hard core epic tail teller. Traditionally a Bard would often be playing a lute.
@@ROMsquad Probably the best example of his bardcore style is the Tale of Jenny and Screech. He tells the tales while accompanying himself with the guitar. Because bards and minstrels were mostly medieval, Ren starts each tale (and Hi Ren) with a classical guitar intro. Your description of Ren's genre as musical "parkour" also works pretty well, because he's jumping all around between different genres, styles and instruments like an acrobat.😂
Bardcore because he's like a medieval bard who entertains and he's hardcore just because he ROCKS!! LOL. At least that's my interpretation of Ren. Also I absolutely love the tie on with Parkour because Ren definitely jumps between bar after bar makes alot of insane jumps and sick landings in his music. Ren is most certainly a sincere, incredible, amazing person and this shows in every single original killer song as well as every reimagined rendition of cover songs he performs.
Such an unique artist! Another great reaction. The Big Push ( The band Ren is in ) Bongo Bong is brilliant if you want something different and of course " I Shot The Sheriff/Road to Zion and Hip Hop " ( must be this version )
The sheer joy that Bri radiates experiencing this is just so heartwarming that I melted. Seeing someone loving this as much as I do is, is (searches for a special enough word) ...is shiny! Also love Bri's little glances to camera that say so much when there's no room to fit a word in edgewise, absolute magic!! Thank you for brightening my day!!!
Just want to say congratulations on being so close to 100k and y’all fairly new. This means that people can see just how genuine you two are. Keep growing y’all’s channel and stay blessed.
Can't wait for you to see this. It will be a nice change from the HEAVY stuff. Power is another great upbeat song. But, you may want to save it for after your next HEAVY one. Children Of The Moon, would be a perfect choice for the spooky season. Really enjoying watching your journey. Have a stellar day.
"nah, you can't fake that one" hahaha, great reaction guys! Loving your Ren reactions, the guy is a genius, he can do everything, you have so many more to check out and you will never be disappointed.
Bri.. don’t ever change! ❤ I mean, whenever you begin to get emotional and I notice it, that makes me get emotional and then I have to stop watching.. but it’s great!
I've been working my way through your Ren reactions for the last couple of days. It's been great watching your progression. You're such a sweet couple! You're doing a great job! 🖤
Ford Broncos are 2-door Vehicles such as the one OJ was in, bardcore as a Bard in medieval times would go from Village to Village telling stories with songs
Bardcore.. is the word. Meaning Ren is a Bard re his acoustic guitar amazing stories and Hardcore cos he goes hard with everything he does. The fast piece sitting on top of the boat, check the lyrics Ren posts with his songs and you'll find hes always clever with his words. 'He says 'Coming with the rhythm...' and those words together seem faster than the rest. Great react. You only have 197 more Rens to do. :)
"Bardcore" Is actually a play on words with the title of a bard. A Bard is from the older days where you would walk in a tavern where a "Bard" would tell tales through song and dance. However, it is funny that in this case the play on words you did would work; that isn't how it's meant in this case lol...
Whoa. You're the first I've heard catch the O.J.-lane double. You're right; it plays out. (Ren mentions the OJ case in a recent song too.) It also goes with my thoughts that this whole song is about beings (people/monsters) who "lose it." It's like Ren just challenged himself one day to see if he could rap to an EDM beat, looked at song titles and chose the classic "Losing It" by Fisher. Fortunately the original didn't have lyrics, so just *went nuts*. My favorite is using Macbeth as an adverb "I'm about to go beast mode / I'm about to go Macbeth" basically saying he's gonna kill it ... and then he goes triple time. (Historical note since you do it too: the real Scottish king was not the murderous tyrant written about in Shakespeare's play.) I also like his multiple chopping references to create his "retake," especially "chop the fuck up like a cosmetician". So clever. I think he probably sits in front of his equipment just twisting up sounds and beats til he finds what he wants. Great reaction!
New sub. If you want to hear, Ren spitin' some more try his song, "Ocean." He did that with a girl called, Eden Nash. It's become one of my faves'. It's more singing but towards the middle of the song, Ren goes off. To me it sounds faster than he does here but I am not into rap really I have been a metalhead since the 70's. Yeah, I'm old but I can still appreciate talent when I see it. P.S. A "bard" Was a person back in the Middle Ages who would go around and entertain people with music and singing for money. People refer to, Ren as a modern day bard.
Nice reaction, love the energy! Quick correction: "What you wrecked em" is actually "what you reckon" (as in "what do you figure?") Still works as a "rectum" bar though! Word! Btw, Ren puts the lyrics in a pinned comment on most of his videos. I didn't actually check this one but I'm 99% sure cuz British peeps use the word "reckon" way more than we do in the US.
OKAY!!! I think you guys are ready to be introduced to REN’s band called the Big Push. They do a lot of cover songs and a few originals but they are something special.
Someone coined the term 'Bardcore' (as in medieval times kinda thing) regarding 'Hi Ren' and The Tales Trilogy most specifically. It doesn't apply to all of his stuff, but it is definitely true that his music spans a wide variety of genres and he is good at all of them. Have fun on the journey, he has so many amazing songs out there to appreciate.
Ren's "Power" gives you those good vibes while spitting his sh*t (one of my fav's...) and "What you Want" takes you back to the future 😁 I enjoy your reacts a lot. 😋
Also Illest Of Our Time is just freakin' amazing!! Ren also plays with a band, The Big Push. Their cover of I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop gets me up and dancing every time!! Much love! ❤
A 'bard' was a medieval wandering minstrel telling tales whilst playing an instrument. I'm guessing the 'core' part is like hardcore, he's a modern-day hardcore bard, hence 'bard-core'
Some fun facts, the part where he's in the car with two other people, the white guy in the black shirt next to him, is his friend Viktus from "Down on the Beat". The steps that Ren is sitting on are the steps to his old apartment, which was on the roof level of the building, which had access to the rooftop. The same rooftop that he was sitting on during the fish-eye lens part where he's rapping really fast - which happens to also be the same rooftop and staircase that was shown in the video for "Murderer" video and the same rooftop that The Big Push filmed "Bongo Bong" on. At the bottom of this apartment where you see Ren exit in the "Murderer" video and get into the car with the pig-mask character, they drive around the corner and stop to abduct the guy that they put into their trunk. They park right in front of the rear entrance to Alive Gym, which was the gym Ren went to and where he recorded the scenes of him bench pressing and running on the treadmill. The front side of the very same building this gym is in, is seen in many of his busking videos. You can often see a Subway restaurant in the background of a lot of those videos and above that is Ren's old apartment. The song "Genesis" was filmed just a couple of blocks away, as were a lot of his videos, from "Bittersweet Symphony" to "The Tales of Jenny & Screech", except for "Violet's Tale", which was also the location used for "Animal Flow". It's pretty amazing what can be done with almost no budget and a little ingenuity.
Great react guys! A bard is a medieval traveling narrator and storyteller. Since Ren is next level, bardcore is used to indicate a hardcore bard. But it's for his storytelling skills, not his jumping abilities.
Have your guys found Ren's rock band yet? Yeah, he has a band he's a member of called The Big Push. They have their own RU-vid channel. Pull it up and let the view count be your guide. Everything on there is fire. Just pick something that looks interesting and listen to it. You'll love it.
He's 6'3"!!! Great catches! Nice to see a new reaction of this song, it's one of my favs and haven't seen a new one in a while! Always love y'alls reactions! Keep 'em up! I don't even think Knox picked up on the Ford bronco OJ possibility!
In his song with Bibi, he said he stands about 6 foot. That could mean 5'11" or 6'1" but I don't think he is 6'3"... but Richard the cop is (screech tale). Romain and Gorran must be on the shorter side because Ren does tower over them. He actually seems taller than everyone he hangs with. It looked like him and Viktor are about the same height. In his fat boy slim video they were handing off a beer.
He said that he was 6'3 in a live on twitch because his friends were laughing that he looked short compared to them the way they were all seated@@kellyt5341
That rooftop and stairway he's sitting in? You might recognize from "Murderer". That was the building he lived in back in Brighton before he left for Canada for treatment. Scene of lots of videos for him and The Big Push. In the cab at the end, that's Viktus sitting next to him, he's the rapper on "Down on the Beat".
Bard is a medieval 🏰 reference to old story telling traditions which Ren is now doing in rap hence Bardcore Ren also throws in Shakespeare too he’s a very interesting and unique music artist. I love watching you guys react to all his different tracks
As far as I know bardcore relates to his story telling songs with his guitar like Hi Ren a bard is a old style story teller and poet , but as you are aware that's just one style Ren can do .
We love it when Bri looses it and we want her to cry. lol we have to get Ren to see this haha . and hey peeps lets pay these two for being so freaking great. they deserve it. and hmm Bri is so cute!! Smiles
Bardcore means like in the Renaissance days you would have a Bard playing music to amuse your guests. They would tell stories within music. Ren is doing the same things here but in a modern way.
Bardcore means as in olden days a bard would sing and tell tales and put on a show in a bar or a tavern telling tales of heroes or victories ... he's like a bard with his acting and musical talents to act out a story .. as in hi ren and the tale of Jenny and screech
From what I understand, "Bards" are performers from medieval times that used poetic music to express the woes of poorer folks (ironically, to the wealthier) in an entertaining way. BARDCORE may be a play on "HARDCORE". That my take on it. I enjoyed this reaction thank you!
Rewatching you this morning. Couldn't comment last night when I was watching y'all on the TV. See all good I'm rewatching, no Biggie Smalls problems happen sum times ❤️
Just in case--becasue it is sometimes harder than fuck to follow Ren--he includes the lyrics in notes for hte video in many. Many folks will open the lyrics on a phone or pad while watching just to see the lyrics. Awesome reations of course. 'Losing It' is freaking amazing. For something similar try either 'Bittersweet Symphony' or 'Right Here, Right Now'. Both use popular underlying tracks like 'Losing It' is a popular EDM track.
