The guitarist is Romain Axisa from The Big Push. In the part where he is drawing eyes on him it is to show that he is opening his eyes to what is really going on around him. Before that all he did was start and stop when he was told to, after he gets scared because he can see what is happening to him.
also putting yes on the mask meant that the victim wasn't faceless anymore and Ren was looking into the eyes of the victim.. suddenly causing him to realise what he was doing
@@TréActionz My take. Ren: The Establishment Protected from "The Rain" by "The Poncho" (more of that later) The Guitarist (Romain Axisa, You'll met him in future) : The Population, Oblivious to the Establishment Control, "Playing along", obeying instructions. The "Political Interlude": You just about nailed that (As you should😉). Written "Peak Trump" (2018?).... Say no more. You had the same reaction to the last line, "In the middle, WE sleep". The (Western) "Political system" is a club working for their own self interest (and those who control them?) especially in "certain countries" where the population is supposedly "all equal", but some are in fact "more equal that others", the political decisions depend more on "Contributions to and benefit for" the "Club Members" rather than the good of the people. Is it ironic that Mr Orwells' phrase is now more appropriate applied "at home" rather than directed at the ideology for which it was intended? Or that "That ideology" is currently out-capitalising the Capitalists? 🤔 Anyway.... What happens when "The population" Gains sight/ awareness of the situation? Can the Establishment "burn" the population? Or Once the cloak of protection (Poncho) is removed, does The Establishment become vulnerable to the rain? and when the "storm" comes, does the whole system "Burn". I think he's talking Revolution. . (Also reference the "Number 10 Downing Street" line in part 2) . Just my opinion
@@Sovtoshi_alt FOr sure. Lyrically 1 is my fav but visually and in the sense of story telling, 3 is on a whole new level. I wish he did a real video for part 2.
"But when did freedom become a reason to hate? A way to justify a racist slur or insult we make?" One of my favorite lyrics from the whole money game series 🥹💜💜
Ren always says WE. Single most impactful word he uses in everything. He never pretends that he is above or better than anyone else. His solution to societal problems is collaboration, collective consciousness working together.
@@francesdoll4039 Thank you. I see now that WE is indeed more profound than I first thought. It's another of Ren's multi-layered messages. In that part of Hi Ren, his precisely worded lyrics reveal his personal courage to Keep Living and his absolute empathy with those who struggle against hopelessness. We can trust Ren's words because he has been There and is standing beside us here and now... WE are in this thing called Life together. Ren's messages are so empowering, so kind, so smart. I dearly love how he shares his wisdom.
I've listened to the first 2 so far (second video dropping later today) and it is SOOOOO relevant his words today than ever. This is where GREED & GOV CORRUPTION has led us
@@TréActionzvery relevant, greed is nasty and controlling… rich man definitely don’t care for us.. it’s soo cool how ren is able to portray these messages the way he does.. soo many are listening xx
@@TréActionz If you haven't watched 3 yet, think back to part 1 as you do so. (Maybe even watch it through again....) There's a lot of cross referencing between them. A point for every reference!!
Can we appreciate the fact they had to take 183 takes for this one perfect piece of art to be created? And THIS is what Ren's delivery and performance looks like after repeating the ish 183 times in a row? Big up Samuel, big up team, but, my God...
@@newf1388Ren did not do full take as I understand it. He stopped all over the song to correct everything from lyrics, music, lighting, etc. flaws. He’s a real perfectionist.
@@newf1388they couldn't do that last bit until they had everything else perfect because they couldn't film that over again if they got the floor wet and oily.
Tre, you're now one of my favorite reactors. Like someone said above, the mix of cerebral and emotional in your observations is fantastic. I found you when you were "on the road to thirty subscribers" and it's so great to see the growth in your channel! Keep up the good work, but please don't burn yourself out!
It's Romain (the big push)playing the guitar. And I think the eyes signify getting people to open their eyes to what's happening around them. Great review 😁
I truly appreciate how deeply into detail you go, when doing a reaction. Again, it shows your interest in understanding the true message of the artist. Keep grinding, bro! Hands down, the best upcoming reaction channel out there! Can’t wait to see more Ren reactions and, eventually, your reactions to Harry Mack! Hope you feel better soon.
@@TréActionz Thank you for that compliment, Tré! I’m also beyond impressed with your clarity. You are tapped in to reality in a way that few people are. You’re the first, and only, content creator that I have turned notifications on for. Can’t wait for more! Stay blessed!
Really enjoy your channel, brother! It's like sitting down with a friend and being so excited to listen and talk about music that we care about. Peace and strength, friend ! ☮️
My interpretation of the bag. The bag is a money bag and we’re blinded by it. We play the game (like he plays the guitar) blindly but we’re not in control, Ren is. He is the power behind the game, he decides when we play and when we stop. He can roughen us up. But Ren also plays the quintessential poet teller of truth, and so he draws eye on the masses, making them see the game, making them aware. And once the people are aware, they gain a certain amount of power. They can suddenly make choices, decide not to play. And a people that is knowledgeable and aware of their power can destroy the game, change it, affect the powerful. Anyway, that’s my take away from this video but Ren is notorious for letting people interpret his art how they will!
Money makes the world go 'round, but greed is all consuming. As the World turns, the whole World burns. My theory is he's both characters, who's fooling who? He's face to face, mimicking him at the first mention of the mirror. He seems surprised that he made him "stop" so easily, then shows arrogance from the power. He spends the whole video trying to get him to see. But what happens when he gives him eyes? Where's Ren? Who's the focus? Why is that last line still muffled? He gives him eye's, and now he can finally see himself. And when he finally does, it defeats him. That look on Ren's face as he turns to immolate, isn't one of spiteful protest. It's realization. That's pain. That's loss. We like to point the blame.
As i keep telling all my fellow Renegades: Tré just gets it! Possibly my fave reaction of yours so far. Keep up the awesome content, we appreciate you my dude!
Romain is the sack man 😂 notice how he was compliant right the way through, until he was given eyes, then he could see he was being taken advantage of and defended himself, so much symbolism!! Fun fact, this is a one shot and Sam (videographer) and Ren said in an interview that it took 183 (or there abouts) takes to get it right 😂 I cannot wait for MG2 & 3 reactions!!! I hope you feel better soon 💜
The guitarist is Romain Axisa his friend and the guitarist from The Big Push. Interesting analogy on greed burning everyone around us and also ourselves hadn't thought of that. I think think the eyes been drawn was making us see our greed.
Facts on the eyes things. The comments have helped me understand that eyes piece. Genius. I just have to remember Ren doesn't add things to his videos just because
The love of money not pursuit. Poor people or whoever pursuing more money isn’t a problem but when you love money like your children it’ll never be enough. Your thirst never gets quenched and you’ll virtually do anything to attain more and this leads to immoral selfish things!
my favourite line, "theres no left theres no right in the middle we sleep" because its a simple human truth. Everyone wants a safe peaceful place to sleep. We need it. For ourselves, for our families. We are all the same. The middle is where peace is.
I absolutely agree with you. When I was living on the streets (not in the US) I stole for survival. I clawed my way out of that hole and yet I kept stealing. It was much easier to steal than it was to work - so I had to have a stern talk with myself and my conscience. 5 years later I was in retail counting thousands in cash and counting stock in a jewellery store. 8 years after that I graduated from University. Greed is no excuse to harm another person or their property.
This is symbolic, the sac on the head represents a person being asleep to ways of the world, he drew eyes on that person so he would awaken and understand why he was going to be burned. But, Ren realizes he is guilty too, so he realizes he must burn for the same. The person under the sac is Romaine, his bandmate in the Big Push and close friend. The Big Push and the band member's solo efforts are also really good!😊✌ At least this is how I interpret!🙃
This song is still relevant and will always be. I'm re watching spooks made from 2010 later series talk about Israel bombin Gaza..... play on repeat !! It's all the same. It took me decades to realise just exactly what our govs have done for generations, keep us in line and in out class. Loved this reaction ❤❤
i like your conversation about c19... in uk the smokescreen was that everyone was 'given' 80% of their salary to stay at home (rich and poor..), the rich had nothing to spend their money on, the poor still had to pay their rent, bills, car loans etc etc... as the rich own the assets (properties that the poor rent) then their income stayed exactly the same (while the poor only got 80% of their salary therefore they got poorer. it was the biggest transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich EVER. then c19 ended and what happened? well the rich bought more properties with the money they made, that sent inflation rising, rent prices rising so they got even more from the poor, pushing up house prices even more to put them out of reach of average people even more... and the cycle continues.. great reaction dude!!
We're all part of the Money Game....open your eyes (paints eyes on the hooded guy -- us). Then when Ren goes to douse the guy with gasoline, he realizes HE is also part of the MG and his solution is to take HIMSELF out.
I’m always excited to watch your reactions to Ren. You get him and really take your time to listen and dissect what he has to say. I appreciate that man. I’m a 44 yo white lady, that listens to everything metal, and yet Ren gets me; he raps and sings about autoimmune disease, chronic pain and depression, all of which I live with. But he also has so much to say on the social ills of our world. He has metal take on the world and says it the way it is. Anyway, it’s been a joy watching you become as big a fan as I am. Cheers 🤘
I'm so happy you watched this!! I heard Hi Ren back in early 2023, and having 20 years of autoimmunity, MCAS, and a whole host of stuff stemming from those, that video was EVERYTHING to me. Then Money Game was the second vid I watched, and I was like "How the hell is this dude not the most famous human being on this earth?!?! Holy crap, just wait for 2 and 3!!! (My favorite line from this video is "Irony is imminent." Lol!!)
I really appreciate your honesty and insights. You have a good heart socialism isnt communist is fairness. Ren understands and needs to call it out. He is beautiful inside and out polarised ppls are easy to manipulate . Hate isn't... can't be the solution to our survival.
Nice to hear from you again, Julius! Wishing you a speedy recovery, sick boi! Hope the Renactions are bringing you some joy. Have some soup and drink that tea with lemon...that's all assuming you're getting a cold...excuse my grandma ways lmao
@@TréActionz , I appreciate that. And Kindness exudes from your soul. I can see it. It’s a beautiful thing. And likewise knock that cold out. Just shout “Sickness be gone” could work? Ha, no days off I’m stuck working through it. Stay blessed and genuine
To me, the ending is him blaming the whole time, while in the chorus he keeps saying we must hold a mirror to ourselves. It's symbolic that we are all complicit in some ways. Great reaction! 💜 P.S. I didn't read down the comments, and I'm sure someone answered, but Samuel did the video, and Romain from the Big Push on guitar. He's a trooper. 😀
You’re acing this reacting lark! Loving the slight layout change, easier to view. Can’t really add much to what’s already been said, can’t wait to see more
This is the best reaction to my favorite Ren video.❤❤❤❤❤And yes, you are absolutely right I'm sure you know, but a lot of Americans don't, that Germany wasn't alone in their antisemitism. Today, the SPLC counts 595 hate groups in the US. This should scare us into some self reflection as a nation, but not sure that is ever going to happen
The eyes make him look more human. Since it’s easier to rob people in a corporate setting without knowing their face but if they resemble us we have a harder time.
Love your reactions 👍❤❤❤ I like your interpretation of his self-immolation at the end: We burn everybody and everything and finally ourselfs. I always thought it's a reminiscent of the self-immolation of Vietnamese monks who chose this as a form of protest against their oppression. Thích Quảng Đức's self-immolation can be seen on the cover of Rage against the Machine. He burned himself to death in Saigon in 1963.
Most people prefer part 2 because of the rhymes or part 3 for it's epic cinematic awesomeness, but part 1 is my personal favourite, because it's got layers. And it leaves you thinking about meaning.
My interpretation of the eyes and the self immolation is that the guitar player is just playing along, strumming along, not questioning. Ren gives him eyes to see with, trying to wake him up. But he goes back to strumming along. Considers burning the guitar player, has a change of mind and burns himself in an attempt to not be complicit in the shitshow.
GREAT reaction, Tré!!! I am very much enjoying your review and responses to Ren's songs. His incredible acting skills are hypnotizing, and his subject matter and Spot-On lyrics are simply dazzling. My mind spins each time I see this video, which so far has been Many times! Your reaction was so affirming to see; your understanding and enthusiasm are truly wonderful to experience, Tré. Thank you so much. After the 3 Money Games, I recommend that you review Ren's ENCORE presentation of Money Game on the excellent video from the very recent Sky Arts Awards in London. I believe this was Ren's first ever solo Live television performance. I now understand that Ren was in a lot of physical pain then, and yet Ren's performance skills never let on. The audience of wealthy people were Listening! He NAILED the performance and the video is Great. It is the Perfect 4th part for all lovers of the first three Money Games (as well as for people who have never seen or heard of them!!) I so hope you will review it after Money Game 3 (which is itself a Masterpiece!) You are in for such a great journey with Ren. I can hardly wait to see your next Ren reactions. Oh my gosh Tr’e, I’ve missed you and so glad you’re on the mend❣️ I believe I suggested doing the MG’s separately because they are incredibly thought provoking pieces. Thanks for proving me right and giving us another fantastic reaction🥳 It’s of my opinion that Ren is a perfect blend of all the great artists before him with extra sprinkle’s! I’m quickly discerning the same of you as a reactor! This was outstanding‼️ Congratulations and best wishes for continued success with your channel🎉
Truly enjoy your reaction videos and so glad you’re working through MG! It’s a lot and it’s big, but your genuine responses let me enjoy them all over again. ❤
Love your reaction to this. We all felt the same way. Make sure to watch all of the others. His views have really helped me survive this election cycle without being drawn in to the madness.

Loving your Ren journey...if you want goosebumps have a listen to Diana Ankudinova Can't help falling in love :) then wicked game..you won't regret it..she sings polyphonic which sounds so haunting and siren-like :)
I love that you get so pumped and excited with the lyrics. I love that you can get speak on hard subjects without getting off track too. Ren be spitting facts and educating those who care to listen. Awesome reaction as always.
