Bear in mind. The 'Shell Oil Company' bad it's beginnings in a family that imported sea shells into England in the 1800's. Then they became an oil company in 1907. The shell became their logo. Yes. The Shell Oil Company. You can see the links between it all in his lines. It's also where the nursery rhyme 'She sells sea shells' comes from. The man is so clever.
Ren has that line in The Hunger -- "I teach over beats." Every time I hear that line I think of this song. Ren both teaches and preaches, in that he wants to educate AND to persuade. Nice reaction!
It always makes me think of Saturday morning cartoons - Schoolhouse Rock. I swear, I spent half a year in a high school Economics course and this song is more informative.
The LOVE of money is the root of all evils. We all need money to survive, but some stomp, crush, rob and kill for it. That is the sin, I don't need God because money is my god.
Crucify your Culture, Ocean, Life is Funny, Humble... His Clearly spoken words are Unreal!!! You Gotta do them... Not many has yet! They're from years ago... but OMG!!!!
The line is actually, "The LOVE of money is the root of all evil." He calls out all sorts of groups with this one. Shell Oil actually went from selling shells to selling oil. DeBeers hoards diamonds to artificially create scarcity (they were never as rare as they claimed) and actively fight lab-created diamonds being accepted despite them being superior in pretty much every single metric. A curated selection of politicians, both recent and not-so-recent.
It does not say that money is the root of all evil, it says "For the LOVE of money is the root of all evil". Used wisely, you can do great things for mankind. In the wrong hands it can be the most powerful and dangerous drug on earth. Another great reaction man. Thanks for the content!
Great reaction 😄 In terms of diamonds, they actually weren’t even the engagement gem/stone of choice. The company DeBeers literally done exactly what Rens shell analogy states. They faked the diamonds rarity, made out that this was the ‘only’ way to propose ect ect. They’re still a massive jewellery company to this day. Also She sells sea shells did originate with Mary Anning selling seashells. She done so to make a living and was the first female palaeontologist. The Shell Oil Company was also born from Marcus Samuel selling oriental seashells, then expanding. Much love 🌺
While I agree that diamonds as finely carved jewls are over valued and there is obviously a monopoly with them. It's not entirely true to say they are just "rocks" they are super compressed carbon crystals that have great density. You can cut glass with them. They have value and are useful. Carbon in all of its forms is unsurprisingly valuable (being that it's the majority of our building blocks biologically 😅). Graphene for example is a miracle descovery. It's basically an atomic lattice of carbon that is going to revolutionize industry from batteries to structures. It's insanely strong and highly conductive (and I'm not offering financial advice but it wouldn't hurt to have some stock in it 😅)
He's such a True Artist!!! And... he's Smart! It's kinda funny watching reactions to his works... a Lot of people just don't understand his words! That's sad actually! Just shows how bad our education system is!
Nobody can know everything 🤓 I miss a lot of the pop culture references until somebody points them out, cuz I'm old. 😜 We' all need to step it up a notch to keep up with Ren. 🤣🤯👵✌️
The love of money !! Is the root of all evil. GREED!. Money itself is just paper and coins. Just like guns are glorified become an extention of a person who hates..
DeBeers did the lock em up make like there is a scarcity for Diamonds. DeBeers, founded by Cecil Rhodes in 1870, has been a highly successful and effective controller of the diamond market, having developed a unique purchasing and marketing cartel that has influenced prices in the market virtually undisturbed for almost a century. But the biggest trick they pulled was creating the concept of a Diamond engagement ring. Funny thing, multiple times a girl might get engaged before getting married & 2nd hand used market is crap as most end up thrown in a lake. Diamonds have an actual low intrinsic value not like gold or silver, they devalue by 50% immediately after retail purchase. Prior to DeBeers engagement ring "A Diamond Is Forever" campaign in 1948 only 10% of engagement rings had a Diamond now it's in the high 90's. Let's not talk about chocolate at Easter or Xmas presents
Don’t forget oil. The issue is not drilling more, exploring for more, or using oil from our own country it is about controlling the flow to keep the price up and to use as much foreign oil as possible so we drain their supplies and save ours for future times when they can jack the prices up more. Money has no intrinsic value. It is only worth what it is agreed upon. There is no real ownership of resources or property except what we permit and agree to recognize. In the end it is all just make believe and lies. The wealthy are wealthy not out of any intrinsic value they brought to society but the con and lie we let them tell us. We all exist on this limited little ball of water and materials hurtling through space. Who decided that certain people own what are really globally shared resources and others starve? It is all a lie. The whole money game.
The most ridiculous story I heard last night :there was an after party after THE scandal after party of the streamer awards in L.A. held in a mansion where you could apply for a credit card depending on your clout. With a minimum of 100k followers on social media (tik tok the least valued) you were eligible to apply. - True story from an award winner who went to that mansion with a creator of YTs biggest channels. Hope you understand I won't mention any names.
No. You're incorrect. The actual verse in the bible is "For the LOVE of MONEY is the root of all EVIL". Meaning GREED! Being rich isn't necessarily evil but pursuing wealth and power at any cost is.
Dude, really? 10 Downing St is where the British Prime Minister lives, and the centre of government for the UK. Look, I appreciate that you're no British, but I'm pretty sure most people throughout the world would answer correctly if asked "what is the White House?" I don't mean to b*tch about it, but come on!🤦♂️ Love tho❤❤❤ Keep it up with Ren. He's good people.
