Hey, if you wanna hear Ren really spit some bars, you should check out "Losing it" (FISHER rap version) it has tons of doubles and triples, also so many pop culture references it's insane...face paced and high energy, you'll love it!
@@DRichOfficial Brother D, I'm not sure if you've got "illest Of Our Time" on your list but don't sleep on it my man, especially if you really want to hear some sick bars and crazy flows. You probibly won' t catch all of the bars on the 1st go, but you'll still get your 🤯, 🤣. As usual Ren produced his own beat and directed the video concept, so get ready to be impressed as usual. See you on that reaction track soon bro. Enjoy
Okay…you have been warned! 😂 I know everybody in the comments to the studio version told you to do this and we were right. At some point, you just learn to expect greatness from Ren even if you don’t know what form it’s going to be in. Welcome, now enjoy the ride. Forewarned!!!
Ren doing Ren things. And it’s impossible to adequately warn anyone. Even if we warned you with spoilers and tried to describe everything he does differently, I’m sure it would still blow your mind actually hearing it 😅 It just comes with listening to Ren 😂 Man is built different 🐰🕳️
Deep dive into Ren: Love music parts 1,2,3 and 4, losing it, Ocean, Humble, Money Game pt 2 (lyrical video), Suic1de, For Joe (live), Chalk Outlines (Live), Lost All Faith, Genesis, What you Want, Life is Funny, Dominoes, Hold On, Patience..... and The big Push - bongo bong......
You're just gonna have to take it like this: Ren is a walking warning - "I didn't expect that" is what is said most often about his music. No joke. I've watched probably 700 reactions, maybe more, and I can say at least 98% of them, a reactor, at _some_ point will eventually say those exact words ;P
Glad you did this one right away! You know, there isn't a warning strong enough for Ren 😂😂😂 Just accept that everything is fire, and go with it, that's my advice 😉 I think you should try Ren and Sam Tompkins busking on the streets with Earned it/Man's Word/Falling. I WILL give you an extra warning here. It's possible you might fall off your chair. There. Can't say I didn't give you a heads up now 😂😂😂
Thanks for the great reaction! I love Ren acoustic versions, they are always so special. I recommend listening to the Animal Flow acoustic version- it is also very different and amazing. Also recommend a double: Blind Eyed, the Music Crowns version and the parking garage version.
Yeah man, that’s a Dre homage. This was filmed in the hills of LA so that’s a good reason for the Dre reference, as is the way he says “biatch” in the style of Snoop. Oh and the Barrington Levey/Damian Marley intro too! Fire!! Great reaction my guy. 👌🏻👌🏻👍🏻
Ren is a creative genius! If you also notice most of his videos are all just one continuous shot. You said you like bars? Then you need to listen to losing it next.
Ren’s talent and creativity are next level. I love how he completely reimagines the songs for his acoustic performances. It’s also another way that he pays tribute to his hip hop and musical influences. He filmed a this when he was in LA, so the Dr Dre tribute was perfect. Ren said that he is planning on releasing the acoustic songs on an EP and will include Hi Ren. So I’m sure he will announce something after the Sick Boi album is released.
Ren's is giving homage in this new opening to Ina Kamoze (In the streets they call it MURDER) but right after that Ren plays the same guitar riff of Barrington Levy's "Murderer" including Levy's scatting, all that before starting his song . Ren also gives homage to Dr. Dre with the guitar riff from Dre's "Next Episode" ft. Snoop Dog. (probably because this was shot in LA while Ren was on holiday). The way he said Beeotch instead of Bitch was a tip of the hat to Snoop who was the 1st to coin it. I believe Ren's guitar solo was an homage to another musical influences of Ren's, Django Reinhardt. Reinhardt, being a famous Jazz guitarist who; if I'm not mistaken, was actually the 1st to introduce Jazz to the UK. In my humble opinion, that was very much a 30-40's riff reminiscent of Reinhardt's music. Cheers ✌😁.
The Dr. Dre bars... Ren was filming in California... I was a nod. Ren really respects the artists that came before while at the same time completely disregarding genre's or "rules" and doing it his way.
You arethe first that picked out Dre that I've seen straight off, others are saying ..."what is that from?" And I shout in my head evertime. Not sure if it's been sampled before the album '2000' by Dre, but thanks for calming my mind 😅
Great reaction. The live acoustic version of “Murderer” is incredible and my favorite of the two, and The LA skyline at dusk looks beautiful. I recently learned that “Murderer was actually written and recorded before “Hi Ren.” Marty DeHart (@Parula06) shared that the live acoustic performance was shot in LA a couple of days before its release, but the original video was shot in Brighton in the Spring of 2022. The song, apart from the original melody and lyrics, gives a nod to Barrington Levy’s "Murderer," Damian Marley’s "Welcome to Jamrock," Dr.Dre's "The Next Episode," and Ini Kamoze’s "World A Music,” with some Sublime vibes in the mix, yet, the song is unmistakably a Ren original. Pete Eley (@PeteEley01) suggested that the guitar riff (in the middle of the song) is a nod to Django Reinhardt. Black Pegasus (@BlackPegasusRaps) was the first to point out that the verse “out in the streets they call it murder” is originally from an Ini Kamoze song, “World A Music,” released in 1983, and that the line was made famous when Damian Marley sang it on “Welcome to Jamrock.” Hexenkind1 (@Hexenkind1) explained that it is actually “out in the streets they call it merther” in the original. "Merther" is the "merging" of listening to reggae while smoking weed.
Ren makes every acoustic version as special as the video. In fact as much as I like the videos, I prefer the acoustic for listening purposes. GREAT reaction!!
Doc sent me.. but your reactions have kept me here. Love watching you falling down the Ren rabbit hole. Love how Ren can reinvent a song when he does an acoustic version. His acoustic versions of Genesis and Animal Flow are both 🔥too.
I knew you would love this version! Such a different vibe but still fantastic and that guitar solo is amazing. And to be able to rap while playing guitar like that is supreme talent! Looking forward to your next reaction ❤
Enjoying watching you become such a fan 🫶 I think both versions of this are equally good. I’d say just take a standard “Mind Blown” warning with everything Ren. Along with the countless songs don’t miss his ONE MILLION SUBSCRIBERS - Defining success video 🙏
Check out The Streets, Ghetts and Plan B, all been referenced in Ren's songs, all UK artists, all groundbreaking in their own way. Great videos bro, keep at it.
I also loved the _"for joe"_ live take, where he gives a whole different feel to his original(s) in a live medley. The guy can hit you with 100 flows in 10 musical styles ... all before breakfast! Calling him a rapper, at this point, is just madness. He isn't a songwriter, or a musician, or a singer, or a rapper, or a storyteller, or a producer, or an actor... he's the whole enchilada, a truly multi-talented creative frickin' genius!
Welcome to the Renaissance and to your fellow renegades, this guy is so mutki talented it's insane like there's nothing he can't do at all, yet he manages to surprise us every time
Great song, loving this vibe! Btw, congrats on your baby girl ❤ I wish you all health and happiness💖 Make sure to introduce her to some awesome (Ren)music in time 😉Disco Doc says Hi!
Glad you entered the rabbit hole! I'm enjoying your reactions. It's impossible to "warn" you on all things Ren. That's the beauty of his music. You never know where he's going to go next
You'll say the same thing after you hear the acoustic of Genesis. Same song, but very different vibe. Looking forward to you listening to Ren and Eden Nash, "Ocean" and/or "Humble". Different from what you've heard so far, but still great. ❤ your reaction!
YOU MUST do his first band trick the fox, before he started the big push! Both are amazing ❤ . Wnd i must say this canadian chicky loves watching you react...ur nice to look at 😊. Please 🙏 do chalk outlines with ren and Chinchilla then fingers live by Chinchilla solo
