The Big Push are Ren, Romain Axisa (guitar & vocals), Gorran Kendall (bass, guitar & vocals), Glenn Chambers (drums) They were together for 5 years and split amicably in September 2022, mostly to allow Ren to get medical treatment in Canada. The others are doing their own things at the moment, but a reunion might happen if they all want it
The Big Push was together for 5 years. Not sure of the exact chronology, but the start of it seems to synch up with the first real improvement in Ren's health, to the best of my understanding. Even though he was no longer in bed 23 hrs a day, Ren was still not well, and his health/energy was pretty unpredictable. My guess is that there was simply no way they could even think of touring - there were at least a few shows at concert venues in England, but mostly, what Ren could do was busk, because they could do it without having to commit to a performance much beforehand (since there was no way of predicting much ahead of time whether he'd have enough energy to perform on any given day). I've read that they'd cart their gear to the busking locations around Brighton in wheelbarrows. Ren didn't know if he'd ever get "better chances" to perform for crowds, but since busking was "all" he could do (note: it's *clear* how much he loved it, I'm not saying I don't think he lived for it), he figured out how to push getting good audio recordings from the busking performances, which is why we have these amazing live street performances that are so enjoyable to watch on RU-vid (on The Big Push's channel, on his own channel, and at least a couple on Sam Tompkins' channel). He recorded the audio via a few different inputs, and mixed it for the videos since he had already been doing tons of audio production for his own music (started working on that as a young teenager, I think). At some point, Ren found out about possible treatment for his Lyme disease that he could access in Canada, if he could fund coming here for an extended period of time (minimum 4 month committment necessary, in Calgary), and I guess the band started talking about what that meant for them. In the end, he got the money together and left the UK just after the Hi Ren release (end of 2022? Jan 2023?) - the band parted on good terms and apparently don't have any interpersonal shit that would prevent them from getting back together... but it'll be up to them to decide if that's the right trajectory, after Ren's done with treatment in Calgary (the success following Hi Ren has meant he can pursue treatment here as long as it continues to help). I mean, who knows if he'll even decide to go back to the UK immediately? idk, maybe that's 100% what he intends. Just... when something happens to a person like what's happened to Ren's solo career the past 9 months, it's hard to say where that will lead them no matter how good your band was. Romain Axisa - lead guitar Gorran Kendall - bass Glen (I... still don't know his last name!!! I'm too new to the Reniverse, and he joined later on in The Big Push's journey) - drums Romain released a solo project album maybe 2 months ago, and has great stuff on RU-vid. I think he's still based in the UK (but he's from France originally). Gorran has beautiful stuff on RU-vid. As best I understand, he went backpacking around Europe when TBP disbanded, busking all the way. Glen is reportedly in Thailand? I've seen some say he went to get married, and I've seen others say he's there doing coding? I guess there's no reason it couldn\t be both, lol, but like I said, I really don't feel like I have much solid info about him. PS: super impressive "immediate recognition" of the chucka-chucka guitar from Rage! I've seen reactors who know Rage not pick up on it at all, and accidentally talk over the first "killing in the name of!" line so they continued to miss it until the band threw it in their faces at the end of the song, lol... I initially thought it was Ren "Chili Peppers-ifying" Sabbath, when I was new to the Reniverse, because I knew that Ren was a big Frusciante fan and it reminded me of the Chili Peppers' brand of funky. I mean, I heard the "killing in the name of" line and knew what it was from, but I don't know Rage well enough to understand that *that's* where the funk was coming from ;)
Ren has said that Zach Delarocha (RATM) is his favorite rapper/mc! I love Rensday. Please do more of this amazing band, the Big Push. The other guys are just as talented It's crazy! Oh, and Romaine on that solo where you said Johnny B Goode? They do a cover of Johnny B Goode! Check out more Big Push please. But all of the videos from this day where he's in red suspenders, they are all top notch! I'm subscribing in hopes that you will love them just as much as Ren! They broke up when he went to Canada this last year to get medical treatment. Ren has said he's totally up to reunite if the other guys are!

The Big Push/Ren use a small crew of cinematographers to record most of their stuff, most pretty well integrated to the Brighton Music Scene. Most of their stuff is recorded by Samuel Perry-Falvey, Luke Flegg, and Joe Flack, and most of their official busking videos also are carefully miced and mixed so they sound great.
Ren had to come to Canada for medical treatment and knew it would be awhile so the band broke up. Ren's health issues meant he found it difficult to book events because he never knew how he would feel so at least going solo he doesn't feel like he's holding them down. The door is open for them to play together again, it was a friendly split but they're all doing their own thing - I'm hoping at least a reunion show?
I shit the Sheriff with the big Push is also amazing. There are so many songs by Ren and there isn’t any that are bad.. keep going down this Rabbit hole. It’s an amazing ride. Oh they’ve done Johnny b Goode too 😂 They do alot of mashups while busking but never try to copy. Ren however has a lot of different voices. Check out “I shot the sheriff/ road to Zion/hiphop” from the same performance. They’re on hiatus since Ren has been in Canada having hospital treatment for his brain damage, mast cell activation disorder and other side effects from Lyme disease and being misdiagnosed for years for the last nearly a year. Plus the others are solo artists themselves.

Ha 100%, I really rate Ren he’s quality, innovative and puts a lot of thought into his work but I’ve heard other reactors mention some of his more obsessive fans, people should just chill and stop telling people what they should think
Excellent reaction, and great call about the Rage vibes a few seconds before Ren said, "Killing in the name of." I'm an old Sabbath and metal fan from the 1970's, with War Pigs being one of my favorite songs, so I was pretty stoked to see Ren and the Big Push do it! Ren also does a small tribute to Rage in Love Music 2, along with flexing his rap skills.
One of the Big Push's best performances is "Lonely Boy/Paint It Black". It's the last two songs they did during their last street performance. Super high energy.

Next track: The Big Push - Watch Out ,( Original Song by Ren and the Big Push) The Big Push - Paint It Black (End of the performance. Had to pack up and leave before the Cops come to break it up because they stopped traffic for way too long).

I think you nailed it. They’re all really talented, but foremost this is a group of friends having fun together. And the energy is just contagious! Hopefully they’ll get some chances in the future to get together to play again if all are in the same part of the world.

Rensday is my every day, lol, and it us so cool to watch y'all discover his awesome talent. They are in Brighton and are busking (street performing) in these videos. I highly recommend any of the songs off Sick Boi (his new release) or doing one of the 3 part songs like The Tales (Jenny, Screech and Violets tales) or Money Game or Love Music.

Interesting... you've got your own reaction format. Instead of the standard pausing every minute or so for commentary, you've got it down to pausing every 5 seconds. It would be cool if you got it down to 1 second increments. Or maybe stop after every note for analysis.
Speaking of Rage Against The Machine: I don't think Ren knows what "The Machine" is because he has stated in an interview that he is a 100% Pro-System Capitalist. That's the "Machine" Ren. Same thing regarding the "War Pigs'. Who does Ren think the War Pigs are? Again, They are the capitalist oligarchs Ren. They are what you aspire to be if you support capitalism. Ren is either very dumb or just a hypocrite.
This is not Ren's band, this is a band that Ren was in, have some respect. What is it with you guys, Warpigs and Paranoid are Black Sabbath songs not particularly Ozzy songs. The band broke up Christmas 22, Ren to move to Canada for his treatment, Romain the guitarist to pursue solo stuff an Goran the Bass player/vocalist to go travelling. they might get back together again, I hope so.
