Always love how Ren puts so much into these acoustic versions by slowing down the tempo and singing with his soul. The lyrics hit hard and you feel his pain! Love how he ties the end with hope as only Ren can! Great reaction ❤

The line is, "There's relief IN THE teeth OF THE kiss of cold steel." And, quite literally he's talking about the pain of the blade as it enters one's skin, not anything to do with a gun! This is placed into context by the previous line!

and speaking of cold steel, in his Chapters stories he tells of smashing an old TV and the the broken screen had a 'shard of glass' that he used to cut into his chest, just to feel something. 'Cold steel' was just artistic license to be metaphorical not literal
