@@css172 very personally decision that, 10 years ago I would have said no issues but after a morning in the Clio (as much as I enjoy it) it’s nice to get back in something that doesn’t rattle 😅 guess it depends how far you go - I went brand new standard wishbones that come with new stock bushes and retained the standard top mounts as it can start going to far
@@stoneautomotive Cheers for the reply! I've had new wishbones, top mounts, cup shocks, eibach springs, front ARB bushes. Felt more direct and better feel through the steering.
Been waiting for an update on this. Will hopefully be finishing putting my 182 back together over the weekend. Just stripped and painted the interior. Ready for Anglesey in May. I've not driven it since October, and not since its been stripped. Nankang AR-1's ordered.
Hopefully worth the wait 😬 Nice! Gonna try and get the Clio to Cadwell park if I can price some warmer weather in it at some stage - failing that I will aim for the RS day 👍
I keep hearing this, real shame the new owners have skimped on the quality ☹️ I had some spare parts I sent to a guy to try and bring his upto scratch, the AIT & MAP bosses were shocking.. Thanks mate, hopefully get the clios together at some stage this year 😬
I got one of the original rs2 for my Trophy. You fitted it at your old workshop in Hayes I think. I’ve still got the car, it’s got 197 cams in it now along with the rs2.I need one of those air boxes. Thinking of fitting 200 brakes.
Hi Martin, Glad to hear your still enjoying the manifold 😬 Blimey that would have been in West Drayton, you must have one of the very first batch as we moved shortly after that! Had loads of requests for that airbox, problem is it took me so long to make it wouldn’t be profitable.. but I did a video on it so should hopefully assist if you fancy building one 😎 Yea I need some brake upgrades, the stock calipers with PBS pads served me well at Cadwell but destroyed the finish on the Turini’s 🤦♂️
great vid. spec on yours is very similar to mine. im looking at catcams 438s next when the belts get changed again. i have the same suspension but no spacers at the moment but do like the stance they give. bought the full black series powerflex bushes which are due to be fitted. like you its never ending though, always looking at new parts to fit. mine is sitting in the garage on trickle charge waiting for better weather.
The paintwork is in lovely condition got to be one of the best out there. Reckon it weighs in at around 960 kgs less if you take the spare out 😉. I had one of these when they were new very lively so yours must be pretty rapid mine got written off curtesy of an ambulance answering an emergency call……I got in the way. Replaced it with a 182 cup but wasn’t as quick.
It always cleans up so well given the age & mileage 😬 I do need to get it on the scales at some stage, agree it’s gonna be some where between 900-950kg with out the driver - certainly goes along the road well 👍 That’s a shame to hear, Cups are becoming rarer and rarer as the years go on
@@stoneautomotive yeah it was a shame but testament to how strong these little Clio’s are the ambulance was doing 65 mph in a 30!! and the driver side door pillow took the full impact I did walk away from it just. I was absolutely gutted it was 4 years old and mint.
Yep it’s certainly too hard core for any daily duties but it does add to the experience but as you advised it’s not too far gone to revert if I ever decided 👍
Gonna keep it NA, although a super charger + RS2 would be awesome it struggles to put the power down now in the lower gears so really needs a limited slip diff first 😅
