This one covers the post-production steps I go through to take a raw render to a final image. It covers saving out render passes, adjustments in the Corona Image Editor, and setting up a non-destructive workflow in Photoshop. This video effectively concludes my whole process of producing high end renderings from a Revit model as part of a design workflow.

Loved the series. I've never used 3ds max before so you basically helped me go from knowing nothing to being able create a decent render. Really helpful stuff

That’s awesome to hear. 100% why I wanted to put this out there. Let me know if you have any questions!

Jeff, you are a true inspiration. Thank you for making these videos. I feel so fortunate to have come across them. You have a new subscriber as well as an advocate for others to check out your channel. Keep up the amazing content! I'd love to learn more about the plugins you mention! I'll first install 3ds max on my computer ;)

Hi jeff. Great tutorial once again. Haven't been doing much rendering work lately but got a new project coming up next week. Will definitly try and incorporate these new steps into the process. As always i will keep you updated for some additional feedback :D Would love to see you do more of these.

Hey man, great stuff! I would only suggest you add a Normal shading pass to you list, is very powerful as you can select surfaces by angle and with one click you can dark in shadows or lighting lights depending on your light angle, so you can add a backlight without rendering it.

That’s a great suggestion. I’m going to try that on my next project. Thanks!

@@VanVoorhisArchitects Always welcome buddy! Oh btw there are so many more powerful things there but it will need a book to enlightening all of them. Do you know what can you do with world position pass? You can create a real 3D scene from it using displacement in Fusion, have dynamic masks according to the geometry in the scene with no 3D involved, for example placing shadows on the wall from the tree you added or any object you add in ps. The limit is only imagination. You have a great channel buddy.

Man this was awesome, thanks a lot. I'm Spanish speaker so I wanted to ask you if you could put the subtitles in Spanish. Anyway this served me to practice English. One again, tank you! (sorry for the gramatical error jaja)

Hey man, Im following your workflow, but I seem to miss something, and it's your scene configuration, and how do you set up corona to render your image apart from ratio, it would be really useful. Great work on these videos and on your art man, cheers.

Thanks man appreciate it! Apologies on the delayed response. Can you elaborate on what you’re looking for regarding the image setup? Let me know if there’s something specific you’re looking to do and I’ll help if I can.

hi Jeff I loved all your videos! very effective! If you ever will open a patreon channel I'm in! Do you mind any tuts about animation in corona? or for cinematic archviz the best way is using unreal engine?
@VanVoorhisArchitects
@VanVoorhisArchitects 3 года назад
Thanks! I might set one up down the road and will share once I do. Animation in Max (w/any rendering engine, not just corona) is definitely a bit of black hole... I haven’t seen many concise tutorials on it probably because it isn’t the easiest deliverable unless you’re just trying to do some simple pans. I’ve looked into Unreal a bit and I think the animation tools built into their Twinmotion platform are fairly user friendly though they sacrificed a bit of the customizability to make things more user friendly. The full unreal engine platform is definitely and probably the most cinematic but is more like building a video game and not quite as easy to integrate into a real architects workflow without a dedicated viz team to help out. It all really depends on how deep you want to push your animations.

Working on it! Just had a baby girl recently and that put my videos on pause for a bit. I’m working on ramping things back up and am about 70% through editing a new video. Appreciate your patience!

Congrats on the baby girl!!! And yes! Your teaching method has me curious if you’ve ever thought of being a professor? You’re clearly effective in your teaching style and the deliverable is just as well designed as the content itself! I wouldn’t expect anything less from an architect :)
