It’s really not that bad in comparison to hermits who take part of or their whole hand out of their shulker and put it in their own inventory so you rarely get to see what their whole hand is. It’s super frustrating. I’d take Ren moving his cards in the shulker inventory over that any day.

There should be TCG gym leaders hermits should go against. Like prankster is Doc, Terraform is Etho, Explorer is Jevin, and then Hermits can earn badges for either bragging rights or trading for something at beef's shop
I never would have thought I would be this excited about listening to TCG in the background at work. I always go in excepting to get bored and turn on music or something else. Every time I get entranced by it all the through. It's just so peaceful.
39:50, You need a 100% Boomer deck for impulse to be good. 3 rare Impulses, 3 Common Tango’s and 3 common BDubs. Been a more consistent deck online for me than Mono prankster.
Poison should do overtime damage even if you don't attack in to the opponent hermit and sword should only work with an attack because in my head it's a tool that's held by the hermit attacking. That's what I think
It's super cool to see everyone running multiple strategies - while some cards are undeniably better than others (TFC's Branch Mine vs if you try to do anything with a Speedrunner deck), the field is, outside of Mumbo, balanced? Like Jevin's running a farm deck (using Doc's World Eater to threaten OHKOs) and Ren's running a Redstone deck (making full advantage of burn and Boomer) and Doc's running Prankster (using Mumbo to delete the board) and the others are using all sorts of things (the rare Zedaph Sheep Stare) there's lots of viable strategies and that's cool to see! I am worried about the Trident in the expansion pack though. You just know everyone's gonna stack 3 of them and then it's gonna be Clock, Time Skip, Aussie Ping, and now Paralysis to deal with
Ren maybe you can convince Beef to implement a limit to how many of a single card you can have in your deck. 3 of a single common, 2 of a single rare, and only 1 of each ultra rare.
Not using your emerald before burning your hand in the friendly game was the worst choice you could have made. It was a free play for you essentially. You get his armor he doesn't have it and mumbo dies fast
Note that he can't play both in a single turn. I don't know why he waited for the next turn to summon Shishwami though when his single hermit was at risk of getting knocked out.
27:30 - "Clock needs to be restricted" I think a good way to nerf it would be to allow one clock to counter another: Player A plays clock, attacks, passes to player B expecting to get the turn right back and attack again... But player B, if he has a clock, can play that on his "skipped" turn, reclaiming his lost turn, and causing player A to lose *their* next turn. So if two players have clock, the one who uses it first kind of loses, unless one player has more clocks than the other...
Can't help but feel that'd just be relying on the player having a clock in their hand - which in a deck of 42 is pretty rare. Besides, you don't wanna hang onto clocks, you wanna use them immediately. A much more draconian idea I had was clock can only ever be played once per battle. Not per _side_ per battle, per battle. So if your opponent uses a clock, that card in your hand is now useless
The debate over using the chest in the bonus round was all the more frustrating knowing you didn't switch at all, your Impulse had just gotten knocked out so you had yet to pick your next active hermit, Xisuma was already AFK 🙄 in fact you could have attacked with Etho that very turn lol
If Ren would’ve waited one turn with his clock he could’ve knocked Doc’s TFC out. He wouldn’t have switched out on the first hit. So using the clock on REN’s second turn would’ve guaranteed a knockout.
The best way I can think to properly nerf the Mumbo card is to simply remove the damage doubler, as without that it seems like a pretty well-rounded card
bit of a long shot but it’s reallyyyyy been annoying me haha.. basically a few years ago, I remember rendog made a video which I’m pretty sure it was in maybe one of his survival series. And it’s where he go to find the end fortress and he kind of made it into a little movie because you narrated over it as a cut scene type thing. shouldn't the poison have killed the mumbo? Correct me if I'm wrong, but burn and poison are turn effects not attack effects, so even if the Hermit is AFK they still take the 20 dmg per turn
This was an epic game! You could've used the curse of vanishing books to take out Mumbo and Grian in the last game, which probably would've gotten you ahead. Or am I missing something?
I wonder if Ren couldv'e won the final game by just letting Doc draw empty. Doc used tons of draw during that match and Ren couldv'e stalled even more with the netherite
I wish I had a community like Hermitcraft to hang out with in Minecraft. It must be so nice. Like I am really good at breaking the game like Doc, building farms and redstone contraptions, and collecting resources. I collect enough resources to build mega builds extremely fast but I don't build mega builds because I find them to be tedious. Maybe it has something to do with the inventory system in Minecraft. It would be great to have a builder friend to build up the world using the materials I collect for them so I don't always have to stare at perimeters, farms, or natural generation. I'm not a builder no matter how much I try. 😂
In game one shouldn't you have gotten another victory point when you killed the second hermit? I believe that would have given you one more card draw which might have given you another hermit to play before you had to resign.
Really nice to see False there with you all. It would be nice to see you play against her! I don’t know if you have yet on stream. Definitely not in your episodes yet. I agree, I like Cub’s silent officiating because it means he’s more accurate and efficient which means less mistakes, faster/smoother gameplay, and much nicer to watch rather that the players changing their scores which slows down gameplay and makes it less fun to watch. Ideally for the tournament there would be two GMs (though one GM wouldn’t need to be an official GM - they would take the role of discarding single use items into the appropriate hermit’s discard shulker and hitting the VP and issue cards buttons as directed by the GM). Ren, is there a better term the hermits could agree on to use instead of “handicapped”? Perhaps “nerfed”, “powered down”, “bridled”, “wooden” decks (instead of stone/gold/iron/diamond/netherite decks) to signify you’re choosing to play/attack with the least powerful decks (or metals/materials) in the game? Anything but handicapped. I know it’s a golf term but the origin is the same. Scar is obviously fine with it but it will continue to make people uncomfortable whenever we hear that word in a match with Scar because he’s almost assuredly going to have to make a joke about it which brings unwanted attention and takes away from the game. And if you use the word freely around everyone else but Scar, well, you’re treating him differently and that’s just as off-putting in my opinion. I didn’t bring this up before but with Beef announcing the tournament it seems like it will probably be used a lot, considering the restrictions he’s putting on decks. Lastly, during the game you tried to play a chest and then switch your hermit and the other guys said you couldn’t do that. It’s true but you can play a chest first and then switch your hermit. But you can’t attack. And the guys (except Etho, I think) also said that wasn’t a legal move. I’m certain it is. It definitely is in the online game which you’d been playing. I know there are some things the online game does differently but this is not one of them. Hopefully you can clear that up with Beef (or you did already).
Ren should have been able to attack with Etho when he placed him it was not a switch Doc knocked out his active hermit which means Ren has to make one active and that was the Etho card so he should be able to attack and everything you can with the online TCG game. Also Ren should not have done 80 damage with Blue Fire because he did not have it fully powered up yet he only had one item card so it would have been Oh Snappers so Cub need to add back 40 hp back on him
so question - when ante is disabled, does that mean when someone gets a prize card they are essentially just drawing 1 of their own cards? or are they still drawing the opponent's card and returning them after the game?
they're drawing a card from their own deck you can see this since ren sometimes draws a redstone card - which is actually useful and helpful for him as opposed to drawing one of doc's prankster cards which would be absolutely useless for him
That card only works on active hermits and Mumbo and Grian were AFK. I personally don't think the netherite armor should block burns or poisons though, only main attack damage.
it's kind of annoying that this capping is in play, in a sense, the player goes out of their way and grind and trade and do all of this stuff to get these amazing decks and can never use them maybe the upcoming tournament can have a capped version and an uncapped version, so we can see who the REAL end boss's are, that was a great game though
I kind of agree yeah, because currently milk buckets and water buckets are never in anyone's deck. Why would they when armor can stop those effects as well as stop other damage.

always love to spend time in your stream.. and right now i feel so down.. would love to share my story about my first memory.. quite sad tbh but for 33 yrs i did not know if it was just a dream or reality and nobody was there to confirm my memory.. but nowadays i know it was not a dream.. i was not even 1 year old and my dad picked me up from my moms place to drive around in the car.. my mom did not know what i remember because she wasnt in the car and my sister thats 3 yrs older could not remember this day at all.. but yeah.. not long ago i finally had the chance to meet my dad and i asked him about this and he confirmed me that it was not a dream. i was not even able to speak at this time. barely could stand on my own feet but i remember this moments as it was yesterday. can describe the weather of the day, the way we drove, the color of the interior and exterior of his car.. my mom always said im dreaming.. 33 yrs!! she didnt know but i did.. how ever.. thanks for your streams ren - i hope i will get unblocked again
