That will make a nice bedroom for the Tiny House! Really nice you have wood and materials left behind that you'll he able to use and save money. Curious - is that your cat or did it come with the property too?
@@buildaway - Us Cat People, always notice the kitties! I have one that resembles yours, my Leonard and he's also 14 years old. He used to be an outside cat but converted him to indoor only a couple of years ago. I know yours must really be loving the wooded surroundings.
Nice to read about your Leonard. Karel has always been an indoor cat. Since a year he's been travelling with us and now he's walking around in the forest with us!
How long did it take to get the building permit and how much did it cost? To do the changes to the facades, was it required for the small cabin and the barn? Trying to learn as much as possible :D
Wouldn't consider us a good source regarding permits. We had some great help from the realtor and from the contractor who helped us with our water and sewage. Also, in our experience, the kommun is very helpful when you ask them questions.
Generally the floor joist are put in to help stiffen the frame, then the subfloor to help keep everything square and plumb, then the walls are built on the sub floor. MUCH sturdier that way!
Good question! With the bulbs we will see how it's gonna go. The fruit trees and vegetable garden will be protected somehow. We're thinking about some sort of fence. However, we don't want to enclose everything, so we're thinking about a way to protect things without fortifying everything.
@@buildaway The deer love the fresh leaves and flowers especially just before they flower, they leave the bulb so that they can have a new harvest next spring 😀. You can buy "blodmjöl" from most gardening shops to sprinkle around the garden which helps to keep the deer away.
It saddens me to see a perfectly good structure taken down. It was not in the way of what they were doing. In the bigger house was a sewing machine. I do hope they did not trash it.
If it had been a good structure I would agree. But it (and I assume you are talking about the part of the barn) was not good. Some of the timbre was visibly bad.
