Update on Grace: she finally got a reliable contractor to fix her horrifying bathroom. Now she is concerned about cracks in the wood in the bathroom that are simply appearing due to humidity. Her contractor told her not to mess with it or at MOST use a bit of wood filler. She is still...unsure. Her shower head broke somehow. Her contractor is...moving in???? With her???? Also she has a contact stuck in her eye that has been there for apparently more than two years???? Her eye looks infected. Very red. She so far has not properly addressed the endless comments begging her to go see a doctor. When she finally did reply to one (1) in a video, she glossed over the doctor part and just talked about how long it had been there. There is no evidence she has yet seen a doctor about it. Also she spent a bunch of money on becoming a notary thinking she would earn 200 an hour based off of one (1) video she saw. She has not yet earned any money from this endeavor and has moved on to selling her art. She still lives in her home (what is left of it) so I assume she is making enough to get by. God help this woman. Grace, if you are reading this, please go to an eye doctor. I'm begging you.
My mom's old apartment had a blue bathtub that had been painted white and the white was chipping off and I'd peel it off whenever I saw a piece loose, they did zero prep work on the original finish lmao
I'm stunned you got so many likes on your infuriatingly privileged comment. Some of us grew up in poverty, in shitty apartments, and had to make do with what was affordable. A lot of times that meant learning how to do things for ourselves, or what is commongly known as DIY. For us DIY were not just "fun projects" but actual survival skills. and yes, things like fixing the plumming, basic electrical repairs and believe ir or not - painting a sink or the entire bathtub because the state of it was horrific, was one of those things. And as a previous commenter said - it is in fact possible, it just needs to be done correctly.
Someone needs to introduce her to that many genres of video games (simulators, adventure RPGs, MMOs, etc) where you can redecorate your houses however much you want, without the expense and regrets!
Grace is making up for the millions of pinterest saves we all have, but have never implimented, by doing literally all of them for us. shes taking 1(million) for the team
honestly, she must have a lot of disposable income cause i cant ever imagine spending 300 just on a SINGLE part of my diy bathroom. terrified to learn how much she's spent total on all her diy endeavours 😭
Reminds me of a story I heard about my great aunt (a nun) getting wasted one night when visiting home and painting the entire house IN ONE NIGHT so people "wouldn't notice". Her dad and my mom both noticed, but decided to humor her and not tell her.
that reminds me of the time i decided to paint my bedroom without telling my parents so i did the parts behind furniture first and then stayed up all night before school finishing it. my parents literally never said a word edit: also just remembered that i used a bunch of old paint from previous reno’s my parents did- and mixed a bunch of different colors to get a green i wanted. in hindsight it looked like absolute shit
Honestly the craziest development in this story would be if there was secretly someone trying to make sure Grace never finished her bathroom and the guy got blackmailed or kidnapped. It feels like the natural progression with this eternal remodel
First they offered him money to do a shoddy job which he accepted but eventually he was so torn up by guilt that he wanted to back out of the agreement and give her a nice bathroom. Little did he know he was signing his own death sentence.
At this point Grace feels like a close personal friend bc I want to grab her by the shoulders and say “Girl, that is ENOUGH 😭” but the pain stems from desperately wanting her to actually succeed, y’know???
@@courtykat Bro I don't think TikTok pays THAT much Also she's had a brain injury and has problems with impulse control, hence why it's so difficult for her to stop. It's not just "for views"
I'm an architectural project manager. Trust me, you only want to do renovations once in a lifetime and dat's it. There are some commercial spaces that try to constantly change the way they look (like every ten years) to look modern or revamp their image and those are the most draining for everyone involved, client or franchisee especially.
As an artist who uses some of the materials she used, I'm very very concerned with her lack of protective gear especially with the spray paint inside (probably without a respirator) and the paint stripper without gloves!
SAME!!! I am also an artist and was EXTREMELY concerned by the almost constant lack of closed-toed shoes? I wear shoes in my sewing room...watching sparks fly toward her exposed piggies was like having a fever dream. She's gonna lose a toe, I can feel it. And would just like to add, that all creatives have unfinished projects..... but this is insane. I am genuinely concerned about her mental and physical health- Edit: Just read she has a serious brain injury and I'm even more concerned. I think it's time for a friend or family member to step in. DIY Projects that get too big can cause a whole house to be condemned. This is serious.
@@denairasama nah this sounds like she became the vessel for a manifestation of just unhinged mania to fix and clean up shit, even if it means your bathroom is like a demon core and one more chemical that just touches the bathroom, some chernobyl-ish fallout disaster happens.
Well she has very littleimpulse control on account of a damaged frontal lobe, so it probably IS that urge. Just without the added ability to consider NOT doing that.
Help why is this meeee I’ll be like “I’m getting my life together” at like 3 am and then pick something off my floor and then be like “ok nvm I’m already done”
One contractor saying another did "everything wrong" should hold no weight. They are trying to get money from you, they will say the builders did everything wrong if it means they can charge more for their service as well as adding extra shit onto the bill. Contractors will often ghost nightmare clients even if it means they lose money, and from looking at her DIY shenanigans I can only assume she was a nightmare.
So according to her talk on Swell Entertainment, the head injury from that drunk driving incident left her with impulse control issues. Which is why she changes her mind so fast and why she jumps into projects even if her tools/skills aren't quite right. She's been a good sport about the videos going viral and seems like a nice person. (Editing to include she was struck by the drunk driver and a victim of the incident.)
I couldn’t handle sharing a planet with the lady. All those usable resources she non stop turns into garbage as a past time make me ache a little harder for the environment. We all have issues we struggle to keep under control. But the difference is that some people actually put effort into it while others feed their addictions for clout and attention. With that much disposable income she could put it into managing her impulse control, yet she decided turning into a trainwreck for the short-lived amusement of unbothered strangers is a better hill to die on.
There's no way she has roommates . . . that would be an issue 😂. I feel bad that she has that injury. Some of us are already born with those issues. You have to learn to deal with them and find a way to talk yourself out of things.
@@Nolitaflat that’s actually terrible. i was getting hints from how impulsively she keeps redoing it and constantly changing her mind it might be an illness
@@Nolitaflat all this considered, it’s really scary how she is using paint, spray inhalants, clay dusts, and paint removers, all without a mask or ventilation. Not safe not good and not healthy to expose herself to, especially with a tbi!
I know some of this impulse control might not be within her control, but tbh this sounds like it would be a nightmare roommate scenario if she was my roommate and this was a shared bathroom.
I'm genuinely impressed how grace can do something that looks pretty good like painting a chair orange only to the most unpredictable thing immediately after
For anyone curious, her bathroom is finished and looks okay now, the only issue is that the shower is at the hottest temperature and wont turn off and water keeps coming out
Maybe it would be a good idea to introduce grace to like miniatures or doll house art! Then she can change things at any time and get the impulse out while saving a lot of money
@@ericahonles-martin3580 Oh yeah, neither is a serious doll hobby lol. (I remember my aunts walk-in Barbie closet from my childhood. I wonder if she still has all those dolls.) But it might possibly be a bit cheaper than her full-sized renovations. I think it would at least be less stressful because if your dolls bathroom is not finished, but yours is still in complete order? No body loses.
I don't think miniatures would be any cheaper but at least you can shove them in a box and not think about them if you don't like how they turned out 😬
Watching Grace is like that moment during a Bob Ross painting when he suddenly puts a huge black smudge over a perfect ethereal landscape. Just that moment. Perpetually.
and he tries to turn it into a tree but it doesn't work because he never learned how to paint trees so he tries to paint over it but the paint won't cover up the black and he keeps trying to fix it but he still can't paint trees so he paints the whole canvas bright orange
@@_lavender_pebbles_ And the paints she’s using are cheap acrylics and some equally as cheap glitter glue, but she keeps buying a lot of it so it’s draining her money
Actually, the whole ghost thing was made up. Sarah Winchester had no family and did like renovation, so she built, though most of the home was destroyed by earthquakes, making it look even weirder. She didn't have any guilt of guns, as most people didn't back then, however, she most likely believed herself to be cursed with the grief in her life and then with her husband's passing. She was a lonely woman left with a humongous fortune. Most of the "ghost stories" are overplayed by the media and even the tour guides of her own home to drum up business, I recommend you watch, "The Truth About the Winchester Mystery House," by Kaz Rowe on RU-vid, most, if not all of the talk of her is just gossip and profiting off a dead woman's trauma
I'm already exhausted before I start tiny DIY projects and yet somehow Grace has the energy, and money, for nonstop home renovations. This woman has supernatural powers.
I know right, if she didn't seem to constantly want to change her bathroom and used the proper tools and materials she'd probably have a nice bathroom 😅😅😅 her bathroom looked decent before it bubbled and deteriorated....if she used the right primer and paint and maybe some kind of top coat or sealant it wouldn't have deteriorated so horribly....
I like to diy cute containers/storage and I'm learning to sew to alter my clothes a bit...but I give up so easily cuz I run out of energy so fast and get frustrated with things not looking nice/how I want it, I would be in panic over f*cking up just a cabinet or a wall of my bathroom and not want to try that sh*t out again for a long time, I definitely wouldn't continue onto the floor and counters and bathtub ect 😭😅😭
does she really have the perseverance and will power though? everyone has the power to start and abandon half-assed projects and to keep changing their minds a thousand times. unless, of course, this is about chadchad, who has to summarize this neverending story to us all in a way that doesn't make us want to die.
She has brain damage from a hit and run drunk driver. She suffers from impulse control I’m really surprised it wasn’t mentioned here. But it’s not hidden knowledge
As a contractor I have told nearly every client the previous contractor sucked lmao He may have quit due to her changing what she wants non stop. Had a customer who wanted a pool pad, we built one, leveled it, built a retaining wall around it, then she wanted the pool semi in-ground so we had to dig it out, after we started digging she gave an insanely short deadline. We told her it would cost more to have more of our guys rushing the job and she said she wanted her deposit back.
I think it was mentioned in the previous video that she has a brain injury which affects her impulse control so it would make sense for her to change her mind a lot. my dad also has brain damage and he has a compulsive need to constantly change his room every 5 minutes. edit: wtf yeah sue that guy
I know Grace has some brain issues from the accident she was in, but I feel like she needs maybe someone to live with her as an aid, or maybe one that just drops by during the day. Like, just to make sure she doesn't keep doing and redoing things that are already done and to make sure she doesn't get hurt from using aerosols like that.
Yeah that wasn’t the real story. She was grieving and decided the best outlet she had that didn’t require her to socialize with other wealthy women was to design and build onto her home as a sort of art project. The reason it’s so confusing now is because she would realize certain ideas wouldn’t work in the middle of the renovation and just leave it unfinished. People made up the story about the hauntings because they didn’t think her answer “I just think it’s neat” was good enough for the press
This video is very old but I followed grace for a while and learned that before all of the tiktok stuff started, she was run over by a drunk driver. Like, run over as if she were a speed bump (her words)-very horrific stuff. She mentioned she had a traumatic brain injury and is very impulsive because of it. Just throwing it out there because it does explain some things.
Well, actually it's moreso attributed to her brain injury, Grace has talked about it, that she was hit by a drunk driver while she was crossing the road and dragged by the car, the traumatic brain injury effected her impulse control immensely as it caused permanent damage to her frontal lobe and other areas
@@alecmcleod3306 Oh. Okay. I was being facetious, but if this is the explanation then I'm feeling bad for her. It's one thing seeing people making weird choices, but if she physically can't help it, it's a whole different problem...
@@alecmcleod3306 damn, I thought she just realized if she kept renovating the bathroom she would keep getting views on tiktok from people who can’t look away from a trainwreck
@@queertherapy4919 it’s likely both, not to say this in a way that not to discredit the lack of impulsiveness either caused by the injury. I mean knowing that this is a way to get views/content is one reason to keep posting it in hopes that it keeps being rewarding. Either in the gratification that social media gives to our brains with likes and comments, but also with things like trying to get bigger growth for videos like a collab with other creators might. The impulsive nature of change might not be able to be controlled, and something to not necessarily fault, but views and the attention given for such is another reason to keep pushing for more wild renovation stories. Why stop posting what is clearly working for you?
Every time I think everything has fallen down around Grace she somehow is already painting another countertop duck egg blue with a tiny brush like it is almost scary how well she is rolling with these absolutely devastating punches how is she still GOING 😭😭

Similar story to a house town doors down from my Grandma's. Original house was a nice little thing built way back in the 60s before the city expanded out there. Original owners passed away and the new owners started renovating it, inside and out. That was 30 years ago. The house has quadrupled in size, there's an extra second and third floors, and they've built a 5 story wizard tower off one corner. They're still not done.

@Good Bher She DID hire a contractor to renovate her bathroom. The cock-nugget proceeded to demolish her bathroom, left black mold growing on her ceiling because he left the water on, and skipped town and blocked her.
I worked for Sherwin-Williams for a couple years and I can't tell you how many times I would have customers come in, ask for advice, go home and do the exact opposite of what I told them, and have them come back in and show me absolute nightmare images of what they had done to their homes. Right!? I've needed new shower towels for like 3 months but I'm still using my crappy ones because I can't decide between dark teal (my absolute favorite color) grey (a nice neutral) or black (will hide the stains when I inevitably forget to take my makeup off before I shower). If I can't make a choice on a $40 purchase, I'm not even debating allowing myself to make any large buys. lmao
@@Delicate_Disaster dark teal is also my favourite colour and I was in the exact same conundrum. But I went and just bought the dark teal towels anyways and I highly recommend it. It's so lovely wrapping yourself up in such a lovely colour 😍 worth it!

After about 3-7 days she'd either give up on it because she realized how hard it actually was or she'd into her depressive mode and just give up because she's sad or feels like she's already fail. It was pretty sad sometimes but damn if it didn't give me hella anxiety lol
How the heck does her bathroom look SO much worse than mine. Mine is missing a wall, needs the walls and floors done and basically everything other than the bathtub needs to be fixed up. The person who luved here before me started replacing the wall panneling with peices that dont even fit and are broken in places.. theres holes on the floor. And it looks better than that somehow
My parents got ghosted by a contractor when I was little, basically if a contractor ever says "I just need the last of my payment to finish this" DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM
Mom's an architect, here's how you do it. Work out a payment plan with them, break it down into like four/five payments with certain work related milestones needing to be met before you pay them. If they ask more money refer to the contract you both signed. Don't ever give a contractor or builder money when they haven't done the work the field is full of scam artists like you have no idea
Can you imagine you go to rent a place with a roommate already living there and you are forced to spend every day under constant construction/remodeling/demolition in an important shared space that you have to absolutely use everyday? RIP to that new roomie I hope they knew what they were getting into 😔
Ya I don't think Lowes wants to be associated with that dumpster fire remodel. She's literally recreating the movie The Money Pit w a perfectly fine home.
My parents had to renovate one of our bathrooms recently because they found out the shower pipe leaked in the wall and found a ton of mold inside the walls. Had to tear up the whole thing. My bedroom shares a wall with that bathroom and I found out how truly deep of a sleeper I am during the renovation. I slept through a worker tearing up concrete with a jackhammer in the next room over.
Literally the same happened to me. Bathroom that shares a wall with my bedroom was getting renovated and they used a jackhammer to tear it all down. I slept through it all. Sometimes it woke me up but i would just go back to sleep :') Edit: btw this lasted days lmao
I only recently had a thought that might explain why the paint was melting (outside of the wrong type being used), fans. Like a lotta old houses use air fans to let humidity out of bathrooms. That or having an open window.
That poem for Robert was so moving, it brought me to tears. The line "*fart noise for 5 seconds*" Was so well written I had to show it to my friends and family, and upon hearing it, it also forced them to tears. Eventually I showed them the whole poem when we had stopped gasping for air after sobbing for so long. When they heard the beauty of it all, my grandma immediately passed away the second it ended. Thank you, Chad Chad, for gracing our ears with this masterpiece.
Imagine renovation simulator that actually is horror game in disguise, like some combination of ideas from P.T. and DDLC, where you just happily renovating your house, successfully completing tasks game gives you, but after buying more cheap paint (at the start of the game you don't have that much money) and returning back to bathroom, you suddenly see melting, bubbling walls, moldy ceiling and other sh*t, while game graphics becoming more and more realistic, showing every little imperfection you done. And from that moment it's only going downhill. You try everything to fix your mistakes while making it worse and worse, and game tasks becoming more and more chaotic and impulsive. In the end, layers and layers of paint take all space in your apartment. You are locked in a small box with walls made from disgusting, filthy paint of different colors... There's one last black spray paint can in your hand. You decide to cover everything you created... Strong toxic smell. Your vision is blurring. Than everything turns black...
i’d love this sm, like the main character can’t see how decrepit and fucked up their house really is until a certain point where it suddenly shifts to what it actually looks like. find a game dev asap!
The bathroom deterioration is a prime reason why you need to use specialty paints for these projects! Specially for sinks or tubs! You can’t just get normal latex paint wet with hot water over and over and expect it to last
the sheer number of layers of paint in that bathroom remind me of those 100 coats of lipstick/nail polish challenges. Like when Jenna Marbles did all of them at once. I feel like both things would have the same texture if touched
i feel like Grace is the sole definition of that one point people get to before they finally snap and completely lose all sense of humanity and i honestly feel for her
I think what upsets me is that Grace said that people “made” her hire the contractor. No one made you do anything, people told you “Grace, bestie, this bathroom is a disaster. You should probably hire a contractor” no one kidnapped her dog and held it hostage till she hired a contractor
