I moved to Atlanta in 92 right after graduating from college. I chose Dunwoody, an exclusive area of north Fulton (county the city of Atlanta is in). Rent was cheaper than in my tiny hometown and my college town, Statesboro. It was awesome. Other things were higher, taxes. So I kept my hometown tag because Fulton is the most expensive for ad volorem. Car insurance is higher but i chose not to get another driver's license. While I was there, they passed a law (Fulton ) that you had to get your car's emissions checked. It was clearly a scam for your money. Old cars were exempt and new ones already passed federal emission standards. My friend was from Chicago and his parents bought him a car, in Chicago and were shocked at how cheap the sales tax was for Georgia, Fulton in comparison to their chicago burb. I thought it was high. The olympics was coming and i knew it would bring in the wrong crowd. I moved. Now, i refuse to live in liberal cities. They vote to destroy themselves.
