I missed the updated j-cups at the show. Just ordered a PR-5000 w Ares in clear coat 🤤 Interested in the new benches, bars, and bumper plates (pinnacle or animal) Edit: new leg attachments for the benches may very well bump me from AB-3000 to Blackwing 💸💸
It might've been a few minutes but he's consciously there. You can't see it because of a B roll but he definitely walks into the shot because we're filming.
Thank you! Would love to do more content like this but something about someone working a full time job and taking care of a family seems to get in the way 😂
Seeing you and your wife together nerding out on equipment is awesome. I think more of these videos would be good. Makes me feel like I know you guys more. You should do less scripted videos and more just talking things out and laughing with your wife about equipment. Interactions with husband and wife are usually good for some laughs.
We'd love to do more videos like this but it's not often we both have the free time to do so. Wynie works full time and we're taking care of our boys the rest of the time so syncing things up is very difficult. Reviews are harder than this 1 take stuff because gym equipment costs a lot of money and we want to be thorough so it has to be more planned out
Gluck, I can totally feel your excitement being in the REP area haha like a kid in Disney’s store haha Looking forward to see REP new dumbbell/kettlebell storage system and the colour options they offer - and oh yes the price. So hopefully they will put on their website soon
REP is an awesome company. Really look forward to their 2023 releases. Wish I had more REP equipment. But Gluck I think your bench collection can be a bench show room. Haha.
@@GlucksGym it’s funny man. These guys must have access to my google search history. I’ve been doing some research on a couple of utility bunches for seal rows lol
Looks like a lot of fun! I would love to go poking around at these different home gym equipment displays-- REP especially. I think you're right, REP is primed for another big year.
Although I do not own any REP equipment, I am a huge fan-boy of this company. A 6 post with the Ares attachment is in my future. My gym membership runs out in Sep, so my plan is to have a fully equipped REP power rack delivered late summer. Super excited about the prospect of having a home gym in my 3rd stall of my garage. Thanks for all the awesome coverage at the Arnold. V/R Shane
I sold my AB-5000 and AB-5200 in anticipation for the Blackwing in Red! Did not know we could change the rails to black. Calling Rep on Monday to add detail. Thanks!
@@GlucksGym Ok thanks for the update. I placed a preorder for a red Blackwing. I trust you. So if you say it an upgrade over the AB-5000, I am super excited. Gonna be a rough 2 month wait though.
Hey Gluck, I just thought to ask (I probably should have asked when I pre-ordered the bench) Did the blackwing seem more stable than REPs older benches?
They widened the back leg and tweaked the hinge. My AB-5000 was already very stable but this should be a little moreso. Unless you mean vs the older 5200?
Very curious on the Hades bar. Seems like roughly 92-94 inches assuming the squat bar is the typical 95". Wondering if this thing will be more on the Kabuki end or Rouge style.
Awesome walkthrough. The utility seat looks great and I'll be getting that. The blackwing also looks awesome but not sure I can justify replacing my ab-3.
for the seal rows on the utility pad - how is the bar supposed to be picked up off the floor? by setting the exact height to reach it so that it bangs both the floor And the bench on each rep?
How tall is wynnie? And what are her thoughts on how heavy that blackwing is? As a lady only 5'4" I'm between that and the 4100 but everyone complains how heavy the bigger benched are. Not all of us at 6' + dudes! Would like to know her recommendation out of all the rep benches.
The 4100 is my favorite and the others are very heavy especially if they don't have a front handle like they just added to the Blackwing (which is still pretty heavy). ~Wynie P. S. She says 5'6" but I measured her and she's just under 5' 5.5" 😂
Hahaha. @8:20. Love the “upgrade” to Rogue comment. Seriously though, if REP keeps going like they are and their American-made product take-off, Rogue will have even more pressure from this American owned company.
Yep! They should have a 60" upright option for them (so you can build it outside your rack/standalone). 41" and 70" length options for the flat/flippable shelf and the plate storing version as well.
REP is the Best company, IMO Highest Quality with reasonable prices. If U bought $5,000 of all REP Equipment and then bought the exact same items from Rogue, it would cost U around $6,800-$7,500
It's a Cerakote so it's thinner than a powder coat but any coating will fill in the knurling some. It felt pretty aggressive since it was a mountain style knurl but we keep saying we need another deadlift bar so I think we'll probably buy one to really find out 😃
I want the blackwing really bad. I like my ab-5000 but i hate the lack of incline adjustments, the handle, and the 90 degree top adjustement. The other thing im not fond of is the large size of the seat on the ab5000, seems like they kept that the same
I agree with all comments except the seat. I love the wide seat pad. Much better than the cheap, narrow seats on other benches which will give you a wedgie. Though I do wish Rep gave the Blackwing a longer back pad like the 5200 has. Then it would be perfect.
As Rep continues to grow and take Market share I hope they don’t try to grow too quickly or change their business model. I feel some of the new products like plates and rack storage they are coming out with aren’t really huge upgrades on things in the market that will drive sales. While some may love the Made in US equipment, I enjoy Rep products because of the quality for the price compared to a Rogue or Eleiko. Thanks for the video! Not too excited for any of the products honestly although I do like some of the barbells. The benches seem to be small tweaks but nothing that would make me want to upgrade my current 5200 and Utility bench.
