Hi. This video shows - step by step - Repack of motocross exhaust muffler - KTM SX-F 450. . . . for more interesting videos click ,, HERE " / @paulxchannel
When you see the inside of an exhaust muffer you will immediately notice that such simple machanism and minimal parts s of a muffer don't worth its insanely expensive price tag.
Awesome video. Thank you. Question, what size rivets? I have an FMF Powercore 2 (So Cali) silencer for my sons 2019 TC65 and the rivets look pretty big.
Nice video thank you i will apply in my exhust to put new cermic woll. Just want to ask how many years to replace the ceramic wool of akrapovic exhust. Thanks a lot
@@PaulXchannel my aprilia 2013 and 1st owner change it to akrapovic exhust already more than a year and i dont know if need to replace the ceramic wool.
Good work...!Have a question....What is that metal cylinder for, over the hooled part?Sound damping is much better without it..I use those dishwashers, mettalic, well packed and pressed...I use mineral or synthetic wool, only for city motorcycles, where there are another rules for noises..:-))) I follow you whit great pleasure, and I wish you al the best from ARAD/Romania!
I use stainless steel washing-up scourers not the wool ones but the heavy reusable ones, they're always available locally they cost next to nothing and they work well I buy packs of three and will generally use seven or eight they open up like a donut and you slip them around the baffle pipe My muffler has a bolt in baffle and I change them each year I suggested it to a friend recently for his dirt bike with a similar riveted muffle and he didn't have a problem with it
@@Drt0Kkdo The very heavy very corse stainless steel ones without soap, you'll find you can open them up like a donut and fit them around the perpetrated pipe inside the muffler, I use about seven or eight of them lined up alone the perpetrated pipe, my muffle is a traditional "Dunstall" style with three small bolts that hold the baffle in from the back end of the muffler I suppose if your muffler didn't use a perpetrated pipe you might fill it with the same things but you could try stretching them out more so they weren't packed to tightly and I'd be changing them more often if that was the case So not the fine steel wool or stainless steel wool with or without soap that will usually come in a box of ten or fifteen but the very corse stainless steel ones that you'll usually find in a packet of two three or six at supermarkets Or at least you find them here in Australia at any supermarket Coincidently I was about to go home and repack my muffler today, it's that time of the year again and I've got it dismantled and polished up and ready to reassemble with new ones waiting to put back in it when I get there
@@Drt0Kkdo ... I thought of it myself, but soon after I first used them I saw a fella somewhere who was restoring a Jaguar and another fella who was helping him got him to use the same things in it's muffler
@@Drt0Kkdo Home Because it's near ready to assemble I might make a video on it and post it on here tomorrow I want to paint the baffle and inside the back of the muffler where the baffle fits into it with heat proof paint and I've still gotta cut it's gasket and buff the stainless steel bolts that retain the baffle before I assemble it but that won't take long
@@hodaka1000 can you give me the specific product you used so I can look for the similar product locally? There might be a chance I already own a bunch under our sink lol.
Did you see it has three holes at the front of the exhaust? I did mine yesterday an air was coming out of those holes, do you know why those holes are there? An it's purpose?
nice video! i bought a cheap replica for my bike and after just a month it started rattling probably due to bad rivets. I might need to open it and put new rivets in...
Hey, does anyone know what the rod on the inside of the exhaust that you wrap the fiber around is called ? Mine has become damaged and isn't as long as the one in the video. Can I get a replacement of it from somewhere? I have almost the exact same exhaust.
