An m3 screw fell behind the keybed, and this video assured me everything would be fine unscrewing it. Thanks!

Hi there, sorry you lost a screw. Guess i should have made it more clear that when removing screws from any piece of gear you should be extra careful that you don't lose our drop them. have you been able to get it out?

@@RobeMusic , thx for the care, but it was a screw from my rack that rolled back behind the keyboard months ago while moving modules around. I thought there was no space between the frame and the keybed. Then all of a sudden, the screw was gone and in my Matriarch. No blame towards the video. Your video helped me see that opening it wasn't so scary. If you hadn't uploaded this, I'd have been anxious doing this yesterday. The screw is out and now helping secure my Plaits module. Thank you for your dedication to this awesome synth!

that'a a relief Josh! i misunderstood your original comment and thought i had led you astray. glad to hear everything is sorted! (I've had similar issues with eurorack m3 and 500 series rack screws getting stuck or lost behind gear...got to get myself a screw driver with a stronger magnetism...those things can be such a pain!) checked out your music...sounds great!

@@RobeMusic sorry for the scare. But that reminds me I have a demagnetize/magnetizer that I should use on my screwdriver too. When I took apart my Matriarch, I rested the screws on magnets in the order I took them off.

Yea, I wasn’t so happy I had to fix it. But really wasn’t that bad…and was my fault it broke. In general, that synth is built like a tank. Was really impressed with build quality when I took it apart. Now I know to treat that USB port with respect

Hi! Thanks for the video, helps a lot! I have a question though: how difficult would it be to separate the side panels, when the bottom is disconncted from the top? It looks like one has only to unscrew a few screws? Maaaany thanks in advance!
@RobeMusic
@RobeMusic Месяц назад
I thought about that…as thinking of putting on wooden side panels. It’s been a while since I took it apart…I think you’re correct…it’s pretty easy. But I’d check with moog or one of the people selling custom side panels.

@@RobeMusic That's exactly the reason why I asked - I found a guy who's interested in making wooden side panels 🙂 Thanks!!!

Cool video :) mine just broke off after 3 years. Saw it coming... This one part is really wonky built.

Yea. Not much support for that little plug. Easy fix though. Moog sent me replacement quick and was under 5$

Nice to see what the inside of the Matriarch looks like. Thanks for posting. So, is the bottom of the case that the keybed mounts to metal and the rest of the case plastic?
@RobeMusic
@RobeMusic Год назад
The only plastic is the end cheeks. The rest is all metal

This is a great video! I recently purchased an open box Matriarch and sadly found one of the keys was snapped in half. To replace the key, would I have to unscrew the other screws on the back to detach the keybed from case or is it possible just to replace the key once you have the case open?
@RobeMusic
@RobeMusic Год назад
You’ll have to remove the key bed from the case to get to remove keys. I haven’t done it with a matriarch…but have replaced keys on my subsequent 37. It’s not that hard a job….but you should contact moog support. They will most likely give you step by step instructions. They’re great.

I came across your awesome video beacuse I want to remove the pushbutton caps (red, yellow, blue, green) from above without opening the synth case. Would you say that this is possible anyway? (I want a little facelift for my Matriarch Black Edition. I already have the replacement caps.)
@RobeMusic
@RobeMusic Год назад
You might be able to get at the arp and delay buttons easily enough…but pretty sure you’d have to remove pcb from the case. I bet if you ask Moog they’d give good step by step instructions

Cool! But if it were me I’d test it before putting fully back together 😊

1000%…I actually did…but didn’t have my camera running so didn’t put it in the video. Thanks! I should have mentioned that in the video. Wonder if there’s a way to add text after a video is posted.
