In this episode of the International Harvester TD-7 Series C Bulldozer Restoration, I will show you how I rebuilt the deffrential box for this restoration series. I am planning to make a detailed "How to" video on rebuilding and adjusting the brake and clutch parts for this machine. I hope you will enjoy this series of videos as I enjoyed making it for you. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me and I will be happy to answer your questions.

Just found your videos. They are going to be very helpful for a TD7E we have. I'm curious what you used to clean everything so well? Did you pull the plugs from under the lower needle bearings and spray it down with a solvent?

I used diesel fuel to clean everything. I opened the drain plug in the middle. I didn't open the drain plugs under the needle bearings.

Hi Salam, do you have a video on checking or setting the end play for the sprocket/carrier shaft. I have read the service manual and believe to understand what it is stating. However placement of the shims seems to have no value as they float freely under the washer thaht reatains the bearing cone. Can you help. Thanks.

Good evening, if all the parts are clean, you start by using what was there as far as shims. Then torque the bolt to specifications and make sure both bearings are seated. If there is too much play in the carrier shaft, then remove shims until you get the right amount of play. If you torque the bolt and the carrier shaft stops moving and the shims are free, then you need to add more shims. I hope this answered your question.

Hi Salam. I'm trying to overhaul a TD8E brakes & clutch. At the :45 point in the video you have 2 large hoses that are running left to right. Did you unhook those hoses, lift them up out of the way or were you able to remove the cover without removing the hoses? I'm looking at mine thinking I'm going to have fun getting the cover off. Thanks

Good morning, I am from Texas, you can find milling machines and lathe at Craig’s list or Facebook or a machinery auction for very reasonable prices. Thank you for the comment.

Hi Salam, I have a TD7G that won’t move. Was told dozer was moved fine before fluids and filter were changed. I have done all pressure checks and they are all in spec. Looking through rear cover, only time the differential turns is when BOTH steer levers are pulled all the way back. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

How Terry, it could be the hoses are swapped for the two cylinders at the rear end. If that checked ok, then please watch my other video which I showed how to adjust the clutch and brake. This is the link for the other video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wIywZIFS5DU.html I hope this help, if you have any other questions please let me know.

Where did you get the parts from? Rebuilding the same one and trying to find parts for it

The place where I re lined the brake and clutch went out of business. You can check your local brake shop and see if they can re line it for you. The bearing I bought from eBay. The hydraulic fluid I bought from a local phillips oil distributor. If you have any more questions please let me know. I also have a more detailed video on my channel about the matter, check it out.

@@SalamSayhood Okay I will try this again. I have a TD7G that won’t move. Was told dozer was fine before the fluids & filter change. The lines are correct according to the manual. Looking through the rear differential cover, only time differential turns is when BOTH lever’s are pulled all the way back. Have also loosened off both brake adjustment screws completely and then dozer will move a few inches forward and backwards. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
