Thank you, very useful and informative. I have a 2003 A140 which has had this repair done some years back but has failed again. I was told an uprated part was fitted.
Have read your comments on forums over many years. Your virtually the only person i have come across who really knows their stuff on these a classes and you are rational and you make sense. Your vids are very much appreciated . You are the man!
Thank you Sir very helpful video for cvt transmition, i have problem with whinning noise with no fault and my car drive normally only the whining noise what disturbed me
And my second issue is, while driving on "manual" mode for the W169 by manually shifting the gear lever left (downshifting) and right (upshifting), i notice while on the 2 lowest gears, there is a grinding sound that resembles the sound of sandpaper rubbing against a surface. This sound is currently not noticeable at 3rd and higher gears. This is on manual mode. But when i change to fully automatic mode (by shifting to N and then shifting to D), the grinding sound disappears (or maybe the sound is there but it is too faint to be heard from the driver seat while driving, surely not noticeable at this moment compared to the loud grinding sound while on manual mode in the 2 lowest gears). What could be the probable cause? Thanks a million.
Hi Sevan, appreciate your advice on this issue my 2006 W169 A170 is experiencing....there is vibration and sound when the gear selector is on R and D with the aircond turned on but no sound or vibration in P and N gear. While on R and D gears, the vibration and sound get louder and louder as I turned the aircond blower from level 1 (softest) to level 5 (loudest). If I switch the aircond off, no sound from all gears P, R, N and D. Aircond off, no sound, no vibration at all. Can you pleaae advise me how to remedy the vibration and sound issue? Thanks.
When you say 'warm up the engine', how long do you mean to warm it up?? I warm mine maybe 1 minute, I blip the revs, and they drop down to about 700rpm, then I move off. More gently in the first few minutes. thanks
I send my A190 in for gearbox repair .. it came back leaking oil from top hose nut, and making a loud screeching noise when forward engaging , almost like a loose engine mount noise but it comes from the 1st drum that you replaced around that area .. Now the garage doesn’t want to take responsibility for their work . How do you remove the engine steps ? I need to search that video . From the ground with no hoist / lift.
Screeching noise after this job is either coming from the washer with 3 legs on the cover dropped out if it's place 28:58 or the washer underneath the bottom thrust bearing of the middle shaft 17:58 broke.

Hi brother I emailed you previously regarding leaking oil, the engine oil is completely leaking from the car and we are really worried, it is a B180 Mercedes B class 2010. My mechanic is saying it’s going to be a big job and a lot of money but we cannot afford a new car and were wondering if you had advice, thank you much appreciated
