Much easier and incomparably cleaner to open with a rigid knife: insert the cutting edge (not the point) in the seam and lever it open at up to three places around the circumference. Mine shows absolutely no trace of having been opened. Great info on the placement of the loose locking component.
Thank you! The same system is applied in Bosch Aqua wash clean series 4 vacuum cleaners. Mine broke exactly 3 months after the 2y warranty. My latch was broken so I fixed it with 2 component epoxy. Fuck planned obsolescence!
