Repairing A Gravel Driveway And Customer Follow Up With Mrs. Elite 

I have enjoyed this video again! The spreading of material, the grading of the gravel, the smoothness of the driveway, the explanation of the process.... I love it all!

I was watching Dig-Drive_-DYI channel and you were mentioned as someone he watches as it pertains to spreading gravel.... I got excited because I follow both of your channels. He's great with attention to details and his driveway is perfect... and are the master of grading with the skid steer and excavator usage among other things!

That was a good job tailgating. I had a guy that could tailgate gravel in his sleep work for me last October, I asked him how he got so good and he played it off. He loves his job and really knows his business. One thing I know for sure, always find the center of your road and put out little flags where you want your gravel tailgated. It’s hard to eyeball the center of the road while tailgating gravel long distances.

All in a days work. Using your equipment, filling holes by getting your rocks off. Leaving a satisfied customer. Job Well done

Man it is so rewarding when you can convert something in rough shape like that and make it look so good afterwards. Always nice when the customer is willing to spend the money to do it right too. Nice job on this one!

I got to tip my hat to ya, getting off the machines using a rake or shovel to give finish touch up to a professional job. Most wont do leg work. Awesome

For $100 or less you can get 1or 2 rear view cameras with dash monitor. I believe mounting a camera on the top front of the dump body you could see where the rock is as well as how the rock is spreading, speeding up the learning process with visual feedback. Just a thought I had. I use backup cameras to make hooking up trailer a one shot job. What do you think?

That came out nice! The b4 condition reminded me of my childhood driveway. We used to go to the chat pile every spring and shovel a couple of loads into the holes. Since it didn’t pack down, it would be potholes again by autumn. Ashley & MrsE we’re spot on in their assessment. As soon as the shelter restrictions lift... perhaps they can talk her neighbor, across the road, into a driveway touch up?

Great job sir. I usually start off with bed about half way up then after about 150 ft I start to let it go up all the way. But of course it depends on rate of flow. Finer aggregates will wait little longer. Driveway turned out great though sir

Every rock is in its place when you are done. Do you like these jobs better than the water and sewer lines? Ashley is a good driveway model.

Pop the clutch on it that will get it rock moving 👍 look like you're doing everything right you just need to pop that clutch when you take off to get that rock to start sliding

You’ll get it! Set your chains a little tighter. I put about 3 loose fingers with 57s between chains and bed to check slack. Listen to what’s going on. I raise the bed til I hear it rolling and get it up against the tailgate. Get moving slowly in low gear and then trip the gate raising the bed slightly and keep easing it up. Dammit watch them power lines!

You tailgate a few more driveways and you'll have it down pat. Just remember to be on the lookout for overhead utility lines.

When I run out (as we call it in Australia) I start with the host just about the second stage and leave it there start moving let the gate go wait till about 1/3 of the load is out and than start putting the hoist up all the way

Mount a back up camera near the brake lights so you can better see where you are backing and turn it on when you are tailgating might help . They are pretty cheap now . Is there a grader attachment in your future? One would fit on the front of your trailer nicely. Money vs time saved ?

Looked like to me about half way up was doing a perfect job. It wasnt all collecting at the bsck but was pouring pretty even

I notice in all your videos you use a toothed bucket. All I own is a flat bucket with a cutting edge and it works great for grading. I've been considering a toothed bucket for sod and hard pan, just wondering if you thought it were a worthy investment and if it would get used enough to justify the cost.

When u dump and go back to make sure your tailboard is clean u should all have a rag and wipe your tail lights off. It doesn’t take just a second and can prevent a rear ended. And if u have your flashers on u can see in your blinkers r working. Safety doesn’t have to b hard. If u start noticing dump trucks running around they will have crap all over the tailboard and can’t see their brake lights

Brandon, a small roller wouldn't help compacting the gravel at this type of jobs (driveways, yards)??? Guess that would help avoid pot holes in the future.... (Sorry, for asking!!! Those county guys don’t even take any equipment out on the job ..they just send a load out and they dump and run. They can spread it smooth as butter

It’s probably your dump box, it’s curved up at the sides… that might have a tendency to funnel your Gravel a little more to the center even though you have a flat deck Extension just be on the tailgate

Looks good! So is Ashley single? I could keep her satisfied with my equipment🤣lol. I spread in low gear and chains set tighter. Raise your bed til you hear it roll around, get your truck barely rolling before you trip the gate and just bump it up slightly as you’re rolling.
