I got this old Snap On R12 Freon detector on e-Bay. I got it really cheap because it didn't work. I repaired it. Many people don't know that these type of detectors will detect any refrigerant that contains Halogen, including R12, R22, R134a, R152a, and R1234yf

You just taught me a lot about soldering! Tom, did you know that our channels are in line with the top mechanics on RU-vid (Scotty, ETCG, Oldskool, Chris Fix)? Every single one of those guys cater to the DIYer, always showing them ways to fix a car with what they have, and you JUST proved it again. It's simple science, there are at least 5,000 DIY'ers to every shop mechanic, and those guys are proving it by how many subscribers they have. What's great about your channel is that not only are you showing then how to repair their cars, BUT, how to survive!

YEAH!!! I was taken back by that one, and just like he said, it may or may not work for your car, but it's worth the try compared to how much some of these cats are.

I have one with the same problem I left the battery's in to long. Now I get nothing. I'll try your trick. But this is also a propane detector that is what I used it for for years.
