Nice job! Must be a very low hour set.

Only found your channel last night, very interesting stuff, I'm 57 but when I was about 10, my dad worked as a TV repair man, in fact he repaired anything and got what ever is was working, a very talented man, he's still here but takes it easy nowadays, I have followed in this footsteps, even though the electronic's are so different nowadays, I still try to repair anything, anyway...back when I was 10, I remember my dad making a TV tube tester and revitaliser, for want of a different word, this tester thing would put life back into the TV whether it like it or not and it worked, I asked my dad what it did and he basically would only say, it put mains voltage across the electron guns and heaters but if the tube was low in colour or brightness, after this gadget did it's thing, that tube was good for many more years, my dad worked wonders. I'm watching my way through your video's, they bring back many happy memories of me helping my dad, thank you.

Thanks for your lovely words. Memories are what makes us all. I too used to have a homemade tube booster. It consisted of a G8 mains transformer to do the heaters, and rectified mains across the gun limited by a 15W pigmy bulb. Not all tubes could be salvaged! It did work a treat on those -231x itt tubes, which came up like new!

I loved my 7702 though the CRT had to be rejuvenated quite early in its long life.

Only 2 screws, I had to remove around 10 to replace 1 cap in my modern 4k TV, it's almost like they don't want you to fix it.

Mind you, the back on this set weighs about as much as 5 new flatscreen tellies!

Haha. I quite liked them.... Even the Philips derived ones.

they quite often used the Philips tube if memory serves me right , personally preferred the earlier chassis these ones often went bang in a big way , think there was several rebuild kits available back in the day from B&O

Are you thinking of the slightly later Philips derives set. These seemed superbly reliable
