Repairing Suspension system and fitting with small tools 

I asked a San Antonio shop once how much to weld a 4 inch cracked flatbed trailer main beam pulled by a big rig, the guy seemed flabbergasted as to how dare ask the price for such an impossible task, I came down to his level and inquired "will it be more than $4000 less than $2000 whats the ballpark" the guy just said "I dunno maybe more maybe less, perhaps you will need to buy another trailer as main beams cannot be welded" I hung up and called my local welder, hed been doing work all his life like these guys, had 20 plus years of experience he came over, looked at the trailer and 3 hours later he was done, $380 dollars and the trailer is still strong, these old school welders are something else just like these folks they know their trade 👍😀

Another spellbinding chapter of heavy truck repair! You guys never give such work a moments hesitation. Everyone seems to know their respective jobs. Total bosses. It’s a pleasure being around such capable people.

Everything is reusable, no waste, recycle ♻️ I like to see hard working people. They definitely earn their pay 💰 👍

As a heavy mechanic and worked on cars forklifts hell you name it eaven sawmills on an on . No bragging at all I see a bunch of men who is willing and capable of doing whatever it take .you are amazing 😁😁👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

It just goes to show that hard work and perseverance can overcome anything, it always amazes me that your customer comes in with a serious defect / problem . 99% of the have machine shops wouldn’t have done what you have done, they would have billed the customer for a new axle part costing many hundreds if not thousands of dollars, they would have charged for new shackles as there was a crack in it, they would have replaced nearly all new nuts and bolts (even if the old ones could have been refitted with a bit of help). You managed this with the help of one 2 axis hydraulic power press, and the only other newer technology would have been the one bottle jack you used , fair enough for the arc welding and the oxyacetylene cutting torch,, you can do a lot with a basic set of tools. I really enjoy watching your channel to see how you might overcoming technical challenges with little hardware in tool technology. Seeing a bunch of men sweating for hours to save a $100 part; knowing that that stick-welded junk breaks again in three to four weeks is making me sad sometimes. I spent years in Pakistan and the craftsmanship is absolutely amazing. They "fixed" my alternator one time; an old man took it apart and then a bunch of kids worked at least three hours stripping the enamel of the old magnet wire and wrapping it in fish paper. The 'rebuild' cost $5 and lasted an incredible two months before it burned up again. But it got me to Iran where it was possible to get a new alternator. I love those videos! It takes me back to those times.

This is insane to me. I'm a heavy equipment mechanic in California and have 25 years experience. If I repaired something like that and it failed and hurt someone I could be charged! They're welding parts that are tempered for specific strength and durability. Everything these men welded will break in no time. Especially since there seem to be no weight restrictions in there country.

I know mechanics in the United States that would cry if they didn't have air tools or even ratchets and cry even more if they had to work on dirt . These guys get the job done no questions asked.

What a great job. I really love how you handled those leaf springs. When you started on stacking them I could not figure out why until you started to put it back together.

The connection didn't need chamfered for welding? welding on the U bolts was a bit naughty also, maybe cook them to help restore their properties.

Excellent repair. It's neat to see how the suspension works on those big trucks.

The way your repair the trunnion Shaft is perfect. Its difficult to remove and replace the leaf spring just with manual technic.
