Repairing the Joysticks in a OLED PS Vita (1000)

Thanks for doing this. Just a heads up, you do not need to remove the sensor on the side of the joystick to get the plastic cover off. Those little plastic nubs are slightly expanded to keep the sensor in place and prying it off may prevent it it from staying in place when you put it back without some type of adhesive. There is enough slack in the flex ribbon to remove it without taking off the sensors

Thank you so much! I took apart the joystick and unfortunately it still didnt work. (Second one ive replaced on the same device in 6 months lol!). Who knows! Anyways thank you my man :) Ordered a spare joystick 22 pounds on ebay :D

The replacement screens being sold online aren't actually new. In china they take apart broken PSVita screens and install new digitizers on them. So all of them are going to be OLED for the original model

Nice video, Im looking to do the same (broke my sticks from too much flicking in project diva oops). Anyways, I was wondering if the left stick and the right stick use the same replacement part? Some listings on aliexpress don’t state if it’s for a specific side or not. If it makes a difference, I have a 2000 model.

Just bought a used 1000 and my left stick feels so loose compared to the other. Downloaded a hardware checker vpk and the stick is completely dead. Doesn't register any movement. You think changing just the thumbstick will work?

Nice hoping this will help me fix the one I have. I ordered one from Ali express and it turned out to be a dud and I haven’t heard from them in 2 weeks for a refund. So hoping I can use the parts from that to fix the analog stick that spins to the left.

Yeah it sucks that gyms are closed and wont open until 2+ months from now. Prices on weights have increased by over double by scalpers because of high demand, same with home gyms or any fitness equipment. Sucks heavily for people that are passionate about fitness (like myself) because they're likely going to have to maintain their gains through other means (calisthenics) if they can't shell out premium for the inflated prices on weights. This whole pandemic is bringing out the worst in people though.
