So, I've been slowly going through all your older videos, and just came across this one. I didn't know any of the backstory behind Rephr. I really appreciate expert craftsmanship, and can totally geek out on all different types of brushes, so it was really interesting how that grabbed the attention of those 3 engineers as well. What a great convergence!

I watched your video while I was reorganizing my bra's and makeup. And listening to your soft, enthusiastic voice describing rephr brushes I found myself going through my brushes and asking myself: damn, they're stiff and pointy and why do I still cling to them. Thank you for doing this video. I just did my pledge on Kickstarter and now cannot wait till the fall to get them. I am a sucker for good brushes so I went all in and got the full line . That number 6 then , number 11 now, brush was calling my name . You were great in the video , yay 😁. Thank you for the demos on most or all brushes. I also agree with you that when I tried the prototypes and I had questions the crew at @Rephr immediately answered all my questions . Sounds like a great company .

Such a great video and a great demonstration of theses brushes. My interest was peaked when you first mentioned them and so glad that it’s a Canadian brand. I love many other brush companies but we get killed with exchange and shipping rates! Enjoyed the Rephr kickstart video and was so happy to see you, Mel and Tara on it. I respect all of your opinions on both tools and makeup 💕
Janet Tekenos same here in Germany. I‘ve eyed the Wayne Goss or Hakuhodo but only purchased them when someone travelled to the US/Japan because of the high add-on-costs due to custom taxes and shipping. I snatched the whole collection in no time yesterday
You started my deep dive into natural hair brushes, so I happily ordered the core set (I don't really wear much face makeup, but I am dipping my toes into that too...). Not sure if I should thank you or not!! Thanks for your great and informative content, and for all the recommendations for other "ladies of a certain age" to chek out!
I just went all in for the50% off $285 bundle. I would NOT have done this if I hadn’t ordered one of their trial brushes and been very impressed not only by the quality but also the business model of this new company. I also trust you and when I saw you use the brushes and get behind the brand my confidence in the product grew. $285 for 11 hand-crafted blows my mind. And makes me super happy. At that price point you’d be lucky to get 3 brushes from the traditional companies.

I really appreciate the demo of each brush. I already tried your technique of rolling powder under the eyes. I found if I stay away from the inner part of my eye, this works beautifully., even on my 50+ crepey eyes. Thanks!
Great video, Michele! I’m so glad you enjoyed your visit to Toronto. I live near Niagara Falls so not so far away from TO. I got a few of Rephr’s brushes when you first introduced us to them and was really impressed especially since they were Canadian, yay! So I had to pledge for the whole package because I’d really like that powder brush! It looks like Rephr’s launch is already successful.

i love this review, you’re the best michèle !! so in depth and practical ! i can totally relate to all the examples you gave concerning the different textures of products because it is so true that the potted cream shadows of chanel, TF and CT are all slightly different. plus the origin of the brand - it’s fantastic to know why it was started in the first place, which happens to be something i personally need to find out for most things that i’m keen on or getting into. 💗💗💗

Ok ordered when you first came out with this video. I love the Wayne Goss squirrel brushes made in Japan, so I was excited to see these at such a great price. I ordered both the core and bespoke plus the prototype that they offered after the campaign closed. I can not wait for them to ship, which will happen soon! I decluttered almost all of my synthetic lower priced brushes to have space for these. Lots of others got things they loved so that I could move on.
They are so amazing!!!! Brush 11 is my favorite!!! Also, love how you use blushes for concealer!!! And rolling technique looks amazing, you've already done this in previous videos and I do like that now. Amazing video!! Much love

Handmade knitwear creator, living in Vegas... sounds funny, but I know it does get a little cold there during winter months. I don't really need brushes BUT I went for the whole ball of wax. LOL no brainer at that savings. I've been interested in these since you first showed them. Thank you! I've recently started putting concealer on the back of my hand instead of directly under my eyes. Using a brush gives me much more control and I don't overload under my eyes. I'd been having such trouble with concealer because I have mature very dry skin that can go cakey in a second. That hand mirror is everything.
I have no luxury brushes at all, I’ve never even spent more than $15 on a single brush! But I trust you and I’ve always wanted to start a luxury collection of brushes so I bit the bullet and backed the whole collection! So excited to get these and try them out!
I really enjoy your videos. I "know" you from the knitting world. Ondawa is one of my favorite sweaters. I have Cascades on the needles. Taking a break right now. But anyway, I knew that I'd like your beauty input because I like your patterns. Not fussy. Just classic, beautiful and comfortable.
I really like that so many of the brushes are round. I am a fan of Japanese Brushes. I'm over 50 and prefer blue squirrel as they seem to work best on my skin,.that being said, I need goat hair brushes for certain makeup formulations. I'm excited to order the round brushes.

Thank you so much for the demo! Your makeup turned out incredibly beautiful, and I REALLY want that big powder brush, detailed eye brushes, blush brush ... actually, I want them ALL! These brushes are one of my top 5 favorite and most exciting makeup/tool discoveries EVER! I get a rush just thinking about them. 😶🤣 I'll tell you one thing, those 3 guys are SMART. They've managed to create, in my opinion, the PERFECT tools, thanks to their ingenious market testing. I was lucky enough to get 2 of the #8 cheek brushes and 2 of the #1 eye brush prototypes. Their customer service was incredible, fast shipping, beautiful presentation box that can be used as cup holders, and amazing communication on the process from purchase to delivery. Everything went off without a hitch for me, and I was so impressed I ordered some single eye brushes, too. If anyone is unsure about ordering, rest assured you'll be getting top notch handmade Japanese brushes at Sigma prices. I like them more than my Wayne Goss, Chikuhodo and as much as my beloved Sonya G brushes.
Oh, I forgot to add, I also have 2 cheek brushes by Hakuhodo, and I also prefer a smaller size. Thank you for the compliments about my 'clean' city. 😁🇨🇦
Gah! I participated in the kickstarter and got the bespoke 10. I didn't realize that the 11 was only an option when you got the whole collection. Super bummer! Hopefully it will be available individually at some point. Thanks for this video. Will be very helpful when I select my 10!
Thanks for this video. I was interested but wasn't sure what brushes would work for me as I prefer cream products and your explanation was so clear and helpful. So bespoke it is and I'll be adding 12 and 17 after watching you apply and/or describe your preferred use.
When it comes to brushes and powders you are the Queen! I learned some new application techniques from you today. Great review. The one brush I feel like I really need is that pencil brush. I have a couple of good ones but the Rephr one should be amazing. You really did Rephr a solid in describing their company and their Kickstarter program. They should be thrilled with your support. I’ve loved all the prototypes I received and I think I have enough of the specialised brushes so I’ve gone for the core collection. Mainly because I really want the angled cheek number 4 brush. Can’t wait, December feels a long time away 😂
