Complete steps to replace bathroom sink water supply lines. If a bathroom faucet flexible water supply line or a rigid metal water supply line under a bathroom vanity is leaking, with a little bit a patience and skill, it can easily be removed and replaced.
The rubber gasket on flexible water supply hoses can crack and leak. Rigid metal water supply lines can rust and leak. They can be replaced with stainless steel braided lines or the plastic PVC hose type.

This is really helpful! Appreciate you going above and beyond to provide key details that could make or break the process; For example, holding an additional wrench on the base to stabilize the pipe while you unscrew the bolt above it.

At 4:45... do you caulk the gap between the pipe and the cabinet? I ask because I had a small leak in my upstairs bathroom and the water went through the gap between the water supply line and the bottom of the cabinet, and left a small stain on my ceiling on first floor. I'm wondering if I should caulk the space where the water supply line goes through the bottom of the cabinet so if there was a leak the water would stay in the cabinet? Thanks for the videos!!
@Know-How-Now
@Know-How-Now 4 года назад
Hi Josh, putting caulk in that location can't hurt anything, though it wouldn't be something that is normally done.

So I just replaced the water supply line under my bathroom sink, was leaking from the fitting going into the top of the hot water valve. Water line no longer leaks but now I dont have much water pressure from my hot water. I checked the other sinks and the water pressure is fine, so it has to be something with the water valve for the bathroom sink. Cold water has plenty of pressure just not for the hot water. Any suggestions?

I want to replace the flex hoses on my bathroom sinks. I took off the old ones when replacing the faucets. The old hoses still had the paper tags on them showing the size. So I took the old hose to Home Depot, bought the same size flex hoses. Came home to put them on, and the screws on the ends that attach to the water supply would not screw on to the water supply valve. I guess the compressor inside the screw is too large, or something, it will not reach the treads on the water supply valves. Does this mean that I will have to replace all the water supply valves in order to replace all the flex hoses? What a pain!
@Know-How-Now
@Know-How-Now 6 лет назад
I apologize for not answering sooner, apparently I was not getting notifications from RU-vid for a couple of days. The flexible hoses have different threads. You should not have to replace the water supply valves. To be sure you are getting the correct fittings, take the old hoses to HD. Thread the old hoses onto the bathroom shut off valves at the store, that will prove that you don't have some odd ball installation. If your hoses thread onto the valves at the store, then find the new hoses that thread onto the valves. I hope that helps, again sorry for not responding more promptly.

Same problem here..replaced the faucets and lines are inside the faucet M10 connection I Believe the other end is supposed to be 3/8 but there is to much play between the 3/8 end of hose and water supply inlet. Would those in fact be 1/4 inlet at Supply valve.?
@Know-How-Now
@Know-How-Now 6 лет назад
It's possible that the size at the valve is 1/2 or 3/8 inch. I'd take the old hoses to the store and thread them on valves to see which size you have.
@dustinbell5851
@dustinbell5851 6 лет назад
djMarky Mark m10? You working on a Honda lol the top of the sink is 1/2" pipe thread. The other end should be a 3/8" compression thread if going to a valve. The only real time you have 1/4" compression is an ice maker line.

@@Know-How-Now I'm having the same issue you're having. Home Depot even tested my old hose and the new one to make sure they are the exact same fit and it is. For some reason, the one end does not want to connect to the plastic valve I have. The other end that connects to the sink connects just fine. Did you do anything special to resolve this issue?
