Replace Door Seal Weather Stripping and Stop Molding

Install door weather seal stripping to fix air leaking though a door. Door stop molding prevents the door from swinging through the door frame. Old door stop molding may not have a groove (kerf) in which modern door weather stripping can be placed.

Well I'll be darned! I have been wondering how the weather stripping came off. It’s a piece of moulding! Been looking for secret screws LOL! Thanks for that demo. Winter's coming, the cat's gone, and the ratty weatherstripping must be changed.

The saw is a Millers Falls. My dad was a carpenter and it belonged to him. It's from the 1960's. It's fun to use it.

A lot easier to move it around and still find a power source for it too! Oh I remembered something I wondered while watching this video: do you think you could've kept the old molding but use a router or something to cut a groove into it for inserting weatherstripping?

I don't have a router, but I'd think you could put a groove in the old door stop molding. I think I remember seeing a tool for that. I considered taking it to my cousin who has a wood working shop in his basement. He likely wouldn't take any money to do it and didn't want to take advantage of him.
