I do a refrigerant change over, I remove an old suction filter, 3 pressure controls, install a Ranco dual pressure control, install 2 shraetor valves, reclaim the old R408A, pull a vaccum, change the drier filter, add POE oil, charge with R407F and check operation.

Mr. Pettinato, I wish you were my instructor when I was attending the HVAC/Refrigeration School. You are the man, Sir!

I had this one customer with 3 different convenient stores. His family is from India. Salim and his wife ran one store and his two sons ran the other two. Was servicing his stores for about 20 years. Every time I went in there his wife always had some sort of Indian food waiting for me. He paid well, she cooked well and I kept his stuff running. They sold out a few years back. I gotta say, I miss that family.

+hannarye up here I call them the Cleveland Indians, I find them to be friendly, good bill payers, technical minded and generally good people, my only complaint is they sneak up on me when I'm working and watch

Your next leak is going to be that suction line accumulator. I don't understand why someone would of put 408 in that system. Seem like it would cause high amps at the compressor. Hopefully it lasts! Thanks for the great videos!
@JamesPettinato
@JamesPettinato 8 лет назад
+1captjake the 408 was put in back around 2001, it's rated for low and medium temp, it was actually working good. thanks

I would look into that. I believe that is just a real rough estimate for most single phase motors. Its good if you need a general ball park #

+Jim Pettinato All the old R22 stuff gets converted to R407F or R407C, not done any new low temp stuff this year but chillers are on R134a. All our aircon has been R410A for the last fifteen years or so, so its rare to see any R22 stuff, though there is still some R407C equipment from just after R22 was banned for new aircon.

The liquid line off the drier is making contact with the electrical compartment. It could be a problem over time because of the vibration and/or galvanic corrosion . I think you should have bent the metal back a little bit or at least put a rubber spacer to prevent rubbing.

Saw you changed from 407c to 407f in latter videos. You did say it has less 134a in it. Do you like hotshot2. Dont have to worry about oil. Price isnt bad. Like your videos. You & Lav. You've done your homework and then some.

jim, how do u make the measurements for the oil, you said that Honeywell says the amount that can be used but, do u have any website or something to read and learn about it, u know i enjoy watching your videos, non of my colleagues know the 407F, i've used it in replacement of 22 and works excellent

I really hate Flared fittings,,,These things will creep right down no matter how good your flares are or how tight it is, but thanks to you i have started using leaklock and teflon... I am partial to brazed joints, reason being, a couple less chance of leaking...nothing worse than a call back...Jim that receiver tank doesn't look to good, like its ready to leak underneath it., great job as usual though Jim.
@JamesPettinato
@JamesPettinato 8 лет назад
+marjones69 the flare connection has been a staple connection from the beginning, if done correctly it will last for years with no problems, and it makes it easy to replace an expansion valve or a drier filter. thanks
