@justprintingaround Tanks for quick reply. Yes I've got the full HP software install. I'll go and try the Solution Center Toolbox alternative. Thanks for pointing me in this direction, as HPs own documentation also has the Scan button as only option for alignment.

Thanks for a very informative lesson on how tochange/install ink cartridges. However, I've got the simpler F4210 model, lacking the top three menu buttons, including the scan button. Any idea on how to progress through the alignment process without this scan button???

Ths is nice, thank you. I am familiar with this. My problem is when I put the black cartridge in, it kicks it back out, almost as if it is the wrong cartridge, etc. I know I bought the correct number cartridge. The color works fine, it is just the black. It seems as if the wire doesn't catch it properly.

@patferab1024 E means error, you either have a finished cartridge or a damaged/unfunctional cartridge, try changing a new one.

alliah beltran The ink used in the video is genuine HP ink. If you are asking what ink cartridges the printer uses, please use HP's SureSupply website. Once you set the language/country in the lower right hand corner, please enter your printer model and it will tell you what ink cartridges are required. Please search for "HP SureSupply" using Google search. The first choice should bet the HP website for SureSupply.

I need help with the cartridge drive belt... Can anybody give me help on reinstalling this piece? It somehow popped off mid print. There belt looks fine. I just need to know how exactly to put it back in place. I cant find a video or instructions anywhere. PLEASE HELP!!!

Alberto CALO It is not recommended to use cartridges that are not designed to be used in your printer. Have you tried HP's Sure Supply website? It helps you get the correct cartridges for your printer and region.

justprintingaround The cartridges suggested for F4283 are difficult/impossible to find so i could get original HP cartridges 300XL and the box says it is good for HP F4280 that I think should be of the same series of F4283. Can I try or it will not work? Please advise. Tks in advance

Alberto CALO Where are you located and where did you purchase the printer? If you purchased it in say the US and moved to say Ireland you need to have the printer regionalized and you do that by calling our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region please go to Google search and enter 'contact HP worldwide'. Your first option should be the site for contacting HP, when you click on it you will be prompted to choose your country/region.
