Replace the Rear Wiper Blade: HOW TO ESCAPE 

I honestly don't know what to do without your channel. My gf has a new to her Escape and I'm used to working on Subarus which are way easier.

Thank you so much for posting this! I just bought mine and the previous person installed the wiper arm facing the wrong way. This means it wipes down every time you turn it on.

Thanks for the video. I didn’t have a screwdriver handy and didn’t want to go back upstairs to get it so I used my tire pressure gauge and that worked fine too.

I really did not expect the total amount of FORCE needed to 'pop' the existing/old blade out. Also the Trico replacement adapter added about an inch of additional offset from the window. I had to modify that. I may end up ordering OEM part the next time it needs a replacement.

Alright, my wiper arm didn't lift up and thought there was some clip preventing, and although it's a Peugeot 308, now I get that some cars have wiper arms that don't lift up, so thanks, this did help 😅

Hey if you hold your wiper arm down to turn them on for 30secs does it not put your wiper arms into service mode? (the arms to the middle of the windscreen) an back window... as does on seats an vws an so on just thought I'd say as could make it bit easier for some people...

I usually look how is done on RU-vid 📺 and here I am... today I saw another video on how to replace the Battery 🔋 and I was like really ! take all the plastic trays under the windshield just for the Battery. ✂🔋 🔨 I bought the Plus Ever Start 96R with 590 CCA. " cold cranking amps " pretty decent but the higher the CCA the more powerful the Battery is 🔋 $89.84 battery fee $1.50 with a core charge $12 plus tax of your state... I'm in Leesburg FL tax % is 7 ... anyways I saw video and fallow all the steps pretty simple and it took me 20 minutes because I clean my trays 😉. the guy at walmart told me that they don't do battery replacement for the ford 2014 escape 💩😲 because they don't want to be responsible if they crack the windshield which is full of 💩 I never touch the windshield but it is what it is. so i did it myself 😎 now thanks to you I will do the rear wipe... front are super easy... 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5 stars for your 📹 video.

My Mazda 3 has a similar rear wiper design. But the wiper could come up if you remove the clipper at the base of the wiper pivot. You can do that by pulling the two “forks” outward to each side and thus pull the clipper towards you and out. Then you can lift the wiper up. Not entirely sure if it’s the same with your car but I thought this might help others with the same design.

I'm guessing this design is to prevent the rear wiper blade and arm from getting ripped off going through car washes. Sad that I even had to look online to figure out how to change mine last year. Thanks for the latest how-to.

I have 2017 escape. OEM rear wiper blade was exactly as yours. But when I bough a new OEM replacement blade it’s different. To replace it you have to pull it to the right and than like you did. Groove is no longer in the center.

I have a 2014 and I broke mine doing this there is a hook dado you need to pull it forward out of click and separate blade from housing.

Do you know what size is the blade? I couldn’t figure it out online

Well... thanks for that. Now I have to replace the whole wiper are assembly because the pin snapped off while I was trying to pry the blade assembly loose

I got bad ice on the back window and now my blade doesn’t move up and instead moves down

I did this once already, but the replacement doesn't want to come out, do had to search RU-vid again. I hate this dumb design that doesn't pivot away from the glass like front wipers and other rear wipers I've replaced.

Great video but it actually just snaps out. I was worried using a screwdriver I might do some damage.🤣 Off and on in about 2 minutes. I will say that’s the easiest wiper I’ve changed in my 53 years.🍻
