This video is a step-by-step instructional video on how to change or replace the wiper blades on an Audi.
The car shown is a 2009 Audi A3. This video applies to other years (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013) and other Audi models.
Wiper Size (years 2007-2013): Passenger (19 inch), Driver (24 inch). Recommend Bosch brand for ease.

Buddy I'm gonna give you an advice if you wanna put the front wipers in service position ( they move to the top and if u wanna replace front wiper blades you don.t have to open the hood or sth) if u wanna turn on service position you have to turn on the engine turn it off and put the wipers lever to the bottom and they move to the top. Nice DIY movies greetings from Poland ;) . Nice Audi with 2.0 Turbo Stratified Injection i like it so much.

Thanks for the comment. Your advice is valid and it works. I mention it in the video but don’t elaborate further as the specific procedure varies by model year. And I wanted the video to apply to as many Audi as possible. My Audi is certainly a real workhorse. It’s on its 15th Canadian winter! Thanks for watching my videos. Great video. A tip for this car is to put your key in the ignition and turn it one click. Then press the wiper lever down once. The wiper blades move half way across the windscreen and can be easily lifted away without damaging the paint on the bonnet. Do NOT do this if there are no wiper blades already fitted. The metal wiper holder will scratch the windscreen

Thanks to you my wiper changeover was sucessfull without any breakage. I had frozen snow and ice on my car so i used a heatgun to melt the ice before removal. Excelent tip on the cardboard or carpet as windshield protection! Kudos and thanks again.

The reason you can’t lift the wiper very far is cause you didn’t set the wipers to “service mode”. You do it in the computer menu. Look for wipers, use the wiper stock buttons on the side to select “service”. The wipers will move to the middle of the windshield and you’ll be able to lift them without breaking anything. 🤓.

I agree. For some of the newer models using the service mode makes for a slightly easier removal. For some years of Audi getting the service mode is complicated, like for my 2009. I point this out in the video. Thanks for sharing . Viewers will find it helpful.

You can also do it by turning the ignition on then off again and hitting the wipers 'on'

@@HandyVal I have a 2006 A3 Sportback and it's not complicated. Simply activate the ignition by turning the key and then shut it off. Push down on the wiper stock once. It goes into "service mode". Piece of cake.

If you want to put wipers into service position, turn ignition on, then turn it off, then press down on the wiper stalk once, it will go half way up for to change them. Then turn ignition on and press down on wiper stalk and it goes back to normal position. Simples :-) 😀

Thanks. That's the textbook way of setting the wipers. And it works great, but some model years have different ways of setting the service position. And for some years, it can be a bit of pain.

Not sure what year they added this feature, but on my 2012 A3, you can do to the settings on the dash and turn on “service mode” for the wiper blades, and the car will bring them part way up the windshield. This way you can clear the hood, and life the wiper blade arms up without any issues.

what is the number of the adapter? I have 2, 3, 4, and 6... none look like yours. Great video - the only one I've seen that actually shows how to replace the wipers.

The Bosch wipers already come pre-loaded with the right connector and it is a #2. So it looks like you have a 2. Focus your attention on the #2 and it should hopefully work out. I hope this helps. Let me know.

Don't play the games with the hood. Use the computer and put your wipers in the service position. . .

Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. In the video I show an alternate way to the service position. The service position works great, but some model years have different ways of setting the service position. And for some years, it's not straightforward at all and can it can be frustrating. It's for this reason, I show the hood way of changing the wipers.
