For a generation who grew up watching them put it back on in the cartoon (Yes I know it's a movie pack) that just doesn't cut lol. A solution must be found somewhere.
I just got these magnets from Amazon yesterday and screwed them on... My brother. I love this WAY more than dixie cup brackets. Thanks for this mod! As a 6'4" tall boy, I find this much easier to put it onto my pack while wearing this much easier than with the dixie brackets.
Awesome I personally like the V hook but putting the wand back on the V hook is a problem when wearing the pack you should see my mod on my proton pack 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Putting it back on the pack is next to impossible after taking it off. That's why in the movies it hangs at the side by the leg. There belts have a loop that catches the hook on the back of the wand.
I was very frustrated because my V-hook doesnt match!! it hardly fit on the first part but if I move I will drop my wand and is very tired to have it on my hands, thanks for the idea!!!!
It's a great idea, I wonder if replacing the V-hook on the pack with magnets would help guide it to the right spot? I am one of those people who will want to holster it and unholster it all the time.
People such as myself that got some of the early rollouts of the Spengler's Neutrona Wand got a bracket that isn't compatible with the pack. I've actually been kinda bummed because I can't really put my wand on the pack for display. Ordered a screen accurate hook set from GBFans, but the lead time for delivery is months. Saw this today and the magnets were an instant order. Thanks man!
the pack of magnets he recommended (and which I purchased) gives you 12 magnets... having the one magnet would make your wand swing around a bunch more than you'd want... I thought the same thing when I tried it, and I like the security of having two magnets instead of just the one
Can you do a video of having someone bump the end of the wand while on your back, this is where mine always failed when using hard drive magnets, went on ok, came off just fine, someone bumps it, and pop goes the weasel it’s on the floor…just wanna see if your set up works for bumping it before I do this mod :) thanks again for the video.
if you get the magnets he uses in the video (I got the exact ones he used from Amazon), I picked up my back and shook it REAL hard several times and the wand stayed firmly affixed. The magnets are rated at 60lbs of force, so if you use two like illustrated in the vid, that's a pretty firm hold for the wand.
gonna hard disagree with you here, chief. I did this to mine, and I'm a big and tall person, and I gave my pack a real firm shake, and my wand didn't fall off at all. magnets > v-hook, all day every day
Unhooking and re-hooking (Like everything else in life you want to be good at...) just take *ALOT* of practice~ you can do it, you just have to try 50+ times to get the muscle and location memory to be able to do it reliably....
