I used to have knee pads, got burnt good a few times, prolly need tighter fitting ones

They make work pants that have a kneepad slot on the inside. It will keep the slag from getting in any gap. I think they are called firehose pants. Supposed to be super durable.

That's the way I do it. 👍

Always worked for me too. I keep the nut almost flush with the striking head, this way the threads nor the nut get damaged and I am able to easily spend the night off and put any washers needed underneath it and then crank her down. If it starts to pull and the wedges slip you can double nut to hold the anchor or cut a slot for a screwdriver, or ghetto with vise grips 🤙🏽Enjoy the videos @meltinmetalanthony

Now…… if you guys want to up your game (to Rock Star Status!) try this: Carefully get anchor started (without nut) switch roto hammer to (hammer only) place bit on anchor (still without nut) and let tool do the work. Leave 1/2” above plate for washer and nut. Here is something else that will help you with wedge anchors. When installing 1st anchor, you notice it is really hard to get in, lightly ream hole on next one with same bit or buy a new one. When they wear out they get smaller. I don’t work for Hilti but in my experience, they make the best anchors and especially/most importantly the absolute best bits because their tips have (4 cutting edges.) I have hit rebar (more than once in my career) hilti is the only bit that will cut thru it if you feather it and spend a little time- however, If I hit rebar the first thing I do is pull out and drill at a slight angle to possible miss rebar when you get deeper- if you don’t, try angling a different way. Then install anchor, leave it up a minimum of 1”, put nut on and carefully hit nut to straighten.

@@MeltinMetalAnthony yep was about to say the same lifting metal might look like a dumb task but if you use your head a tiny bit before you start lifting and moving stuff you can get away with moving some pretty big things the most i got away with was like 150 kg 8 mm steel plate thats almost twice my weight and im not gonna try something so stupid again .... i hope

Not an expert but as far as I know bigger metal structures move a bit due to heat expansion. In some cases this small, in this case angular, displacement can lead to fractures in the weld wich reduce its integrity. Bolts alow for a bit of movement wich is in most cases enogh to accommodate the displacement. Hope this helps

A little won’t hurt you but try to time your breathing.

Any n95 mask will filter the zinc fumes so wear that or just try not to breathe the fumes. I've heard it gives you a fever and such if you inhale too much of the fumes but never had any issues myself, although i wear a mask if i weld a lot of galvanized stuff or just grind the coating off.

@@kreetins I've had galvanized poisoning 2 or 3 times and it is no fun. It feels like having the flu, you can't sleep and worst of all it feels like you got punched in the solar plexus. Time your breathing and keep your head out of the plume. Big breath in, hold +weld then step back and exhale, fumes will rise.

anything over 100k I do milestone draws. smaller than that I tale 50% down of the total bid. anything under 1k I get payed at completion
