I hit an antelope In my 2007 Honda Accord ex, the radiator core support was in need of replacement. This video gave me the info I needed to do the work with a friend and it went very well. Thank you for posting.
Can you tell me the tool he use to shave off those screws to remove also what did he use after to replace also can a DIY dad find all these tools in harbor freigh?
I'm going to have to do this exact thing on my 300zx and I had no idea how I was going to approach it until I saw this video. Thanks, much appreciated!
Great job! Loved to see you work! Mine is done by a person in the most unprofessional way ever. He has cut the radiator frame with sharp edges and hasn’t painted it to the color of the car and has done dirty welding. Took 2 grands and cried that it was so difficult to put on the sidings and bla bla . Now I see that with all that cutting and bad welding how would it fit easily. Crap work. I would have done it better myself. Regret taking to him.
Is there a way to replace a Radiator Support - Upper Tie Bar on a 2009 Pontiac G6 Sedan 2.4 L? Mines got punched in the eye where the Driver headlight assembly is. Like a pinch and i either need to replace or do a DIY fix so that i can replace the hood and drv headlight assembly.
How do you know what the cross measurements are to be. I am trying to replace my grandmas 2009 Acura TL because she hit a deer and the way home. Now I got it all up there and all fits good. Just have not spot welded it yet due to not knowing the measurements.
What's the typical cost of this job if you were to send this to a shop? I just got a 2000 Celica and want to know if it is worth to save or just buy a new shell
This is really helpful but damn I;m dizzy after watching it! 🤣What is the measurement across the engine bay called? I may need to fix my radiator support myself and can make something as a one-time crude substitute for that tool, but I need the spec for my S2000.
I got ducked bought a car that was in a hit back in 2004 the car was a year old it’s a mustang gt convert, and it was in a minor hit for 2000 claim, and all they did was bend it back in shape I could not tell till now year later, summer car only the hood is higher one side slight, plus the diver side fender also is or aligned properly I put wide wheels and the driver side the wheel sticks past the fender almost 1/4 of a inch maybe a bit less, but noticeable to me so I’m asking is it worth the time and efforts to try to have it replaced parts are very hard to find but I have a parts car that’s mint. Lemme know what you think bro
What did you do to remove the old spot welds? Didnt look like you cut thru it cos you hammered it off.. how did he spot welds release, cos looked soo much simpler than drilling them out
Also side not where the core support attaches to the frame rails unibody car you can tell the shit ass job starting to get some rust and you can tell then hammered and pulled it ad straight as they could get. And I don’t like it it’s a old car, but she ain’t just a old car to me gorgeous car that I have over 50k of performance parts for. Also I thinking threw out my geometry on the suspension even tho alignment passes, but was told it’s bad body work period
That would be ok if you were fixing your own car at home, but that shit doesn't fly when doing insurance jobs in a body shop, to much liability and vehicle need to be repaired back to prevent accident condition.
Well if you are replacing a radiator support you most likely are going to replace the radiator, a/c condenser, new coolant, freon, bumper, crash bar, sensors, headlights, hood, maybe the power steering/transmission fluid lines. It ain't cheap basically lol
