It takes more than a short to do that. Honestly ive had to do this again since and its tricky even if you half remember how you did it the last time. Easier to stop clogging the front roller but tends not to be me that breaks it.
Putting the belt on is easy, but HOWdo you get the side off first without taking the whole thing apart. I didn't see any button to push to help take the side off either. 😕
I think as long as you look after them and maintain the front brush the belts do last. Problem is people dont including my wife so repairing them becomes thw reality. Not the easiest repair but very doable. I would say Henry hoovers are more robust and designed to be repaired.
Yep that the purpose of the belt. It looks to me to be a 2:1 reduction so the main hard brush is spinning twice as fast as the soft brush which is driven by the belt as long as it still has teeth.
