Nice video thank's. Did you try to replace a t-zip on a semi-dry suit ? on such suit does removing the old t-zip (sandwiched between two neopren layers) should be also done with a hairdryer ?
Removing the neoprene with the hairdryer will not work, the neoprene insulates the heat and its not reaching the glue. For the semidry suits the zipper sometimes sold with pre-glued sandwich, which should be sewn instead of the old one. Something which is not doable at home, need a special sewing machine
I just found your 2018 video. How durable was the TIZIP zipper? I was recently told that I should not use it for a rear zip drysuit. They said the plastic would not handle the stress of flexing my shoulders. Did you have any issues?
Haven’t seen issues from ones flexing their shoulders. There is a possible wear from backplate and shoulder straps rubbing against the unprotected zip, though. Which is true for a brass zip at same extent
