Don Muscarella you're welcome. It's not totally about the tool. A lot of tools can do what I post. I try to help people with the more technical end of programming. I do like showing what the autel can do though. I can't stand the overpriced tool truck scanners the tool guys try to say are the best thing ever. I got burnt on a $5k tool truck brand scanner a while back. Didn't do anything they claimed it did , updates are a joke and it actually crashed twice in a year. I take every chance I get to show techs there are less expensive yet better options available. I get the whole financing available pitch the tool truck sells but I'd rather spend $1500 once then $35 a week for 5 years. Especially when the cheaper tool works.
Hello Mr. Meyers, I wanted to thank you for making these informative, no BS videos. I enjoy watching them and gain a lot from them. I also wanted to ask how you got started in your business as far as learning how to do what you do. I am taking an online locksmith course to get certified, and have some automotive maintenance and diagnostic knowledge, but would like to further my education in these areas before starting my own business. Any advice or direction you can give in this area would be greatly appreciated.
Hello Jack, Is Longitudinal G Sensor Calibration part of the coding or did you do it or tracking light? My 2011 Sonata gices me the B1684 Not Configured Device is Detected error code after I did the coding. My scnner did not have abiility to the G sensor Calibration. Thank you
Hey Jack.....thanks for the info! Question........Can this variant code be overwritten on a good used Hyundai module or does it have to be a virgin unit? Are these SRS modules like my old BMW E39 module that had to have the VIN coded in as well? I understand liability which is why I am not asking if you think it's a good idea....lol. Just asking if it is possible. Thanks!
@@rbailey225 I saw a guy picked up a used module from the junk yard and extracted the code from the older one and installed the used one and programmed it .
Hi I can’t get any scanner to read my srs code -no communication was thinking about buying an replacement airbag control module and erasing the codes would this work?
What type of scanner do you have? I rebuild 2012 optimas. I would like to be able to do what you did in this video without the Kia dealer running me around
New to your channel...and love your videos. I'm curious did you buy a brand new srs module from the dealer to do this programming? How much was the part? Would it not be better and cheaper to send the srs module out to the several air bag reset places for $50?
Joe Mucha most of what I do is insurance work. They won't use a cleaned module. If it was my personal car I would consider but these new modules are becoming uncleanable . At least in the US. They went away from eeprom memory on most modules and store it in the mcu on the module which makes it much much harder. Almost impossible to clean.
Jack Meyers...thanks for clarification...quick question if you can help and point me in the right direction? I'm working on a 13 taurus (rebuilder) with a maxisys 905 scanner. I scanned airbag module no problem to find out what components need replacement..no problem. I sent out the module for a reflash to clear crash data...made necessary repairs, plugged in the airbag module and now no communication with the scanner to the airbag module and codes in the cluster, abs, etc..no communication with restraints module...so obviously there's no communication now to the airbag module...and Idea where to start diagnosing?
Joe Mucha sounds to me like they botched the crash clear. That's why I don't clear crash data anymore. In the early days it was all eeprom work which is simple but now they are storing data on tge mcu or chips not easily accessable. Some modules can be done through the data line and some with a direct connection to the mcu.If is plugged In correctly and you had communication prior that's the only thing it could be. If they were to correctly clean out the crash data or go extreme and virginize the module it would give you a calibration error . I've seen it many times to where the module is powered on but because of the improper clean of crash data the car won't recognize it as a valid module on the network.
Joe Mucha do you have the part number for your module? Also did you send it out to have it cleaned? I have a box with litterally around 600 srs control modules at the house. If you give me the part number I probably have one and look into what it takes to clean and maybe see where they went wrong.
Interesting. I saw on another channel a j2534 device linked to the dealer site was used to program a fuel pump control module on a 07 Chevy Silverado. Is this something that the 906bt can do?
russell fast gm is different. Their calibrations are hosted online and can only be installed from their server . Sorry you have to use a pass thru and gm sps online to program.
