Another short video showing how the autel maxisys 906 908 can transfer pcm data without having to use ids or as built data. Also show you how to calibrate lateral or longitudinal g force sensor .
Jack, what battery maintainer would you recommend for maintaining battery voltage during reprogramming. Heard it’s a major step in. The ref lash process. Thanks again. 👍👍👍
Hello Mr. Myers. I was wondering if this procedure only works on Ford modules. I work at an independent shop over here in Washington State and I am dealing with a 2017 Dodge ram truck that is about 600 miles over warranty.I pulled a B2207 code (Occupant restraint controller internal 1) And have condemned the module because I have CAN communication with the controller and of course power and ground but it will not accept any inputs. By the way, your video was extremely informative as we have just recently purchased the Maxisys Elite with the J2534 pass-thru and I am still trying to figure out all of its capabilities.
Hey Jack great video, thanks for showing this. I converted a 2014 Ford Focus Titanium to a 2016 Titanium face lift year. I have the Maxi 808 scanner but it does not do the module programming. Do you know if there is any upgrade i can do to the software in my 808 to get module programming? I had to replace every module in my car to the later 2016 year when i did my conversion so i need to program some of the modules like you did to my ABS, RFA, DDM,PDM,SOD-L, SOD-R and RCM. I got the PCM, TCM and BCM from the same donor car so it's just the others listed above that i need to program to get rid of codes. Oh, also the IPM-A module as well. Tnx
Hey Jack when you can please make a video showing us how to backup your files on your ms906bt in case of a need to reset or any other future issue to be able to reinstall everything. Also how to setup a proper mobile diagnostics business, show us your van, what kinda of tools to have, and what kind of basic knowledge to possess in order to tackle most everyday cases
DIY-HAVEN I made about a 30 minute video. Uploading it now. Hopefully it helps you in some way. It's mostly me rambling but I tried to show the minimum I would recommend to get started. The autel backup video is next.
Hello....it's amazing how the transfer data do not transfer the crash data storage all ready inside the old module...did you installed a. Used module.?
What about the fact that Ford wants you to depower the srs system? Do you do that, or do you just replace it while power is going to it? Just asking because I need to replace one in an f250
I have 2016 Ford Escape . Do I need new RCM or I can just use a used one from another car has no accident ? Would this procedure work if I install used one ?
In one of your previous videos where you were working on a 2017 escape and programming the RCM you stated that if there is a pretensioner fault code that on some automakers vehicles you can not program the RCM. Is A 2015 ford escape on that list of vehicles that this would apply to? Working on a flood damaged 2015 ford escape where about 3 inches of water covered the floorboards and I have a pretensioner fault even though a new VIN matched seatbelt retractor has been installed. Been to 3 ford dealerships and nobody can get the RCM programmed. Before this last dealership it was at a shop that deals with vehicle wiring and finding shorts and according to him he did the ford test to verify there was power and ground to the RCM and he did not see a problem as to why the RCM would not program. He also would not try to diagnosis it any further because he said that without any program in the RCM he had no way of knowing whether any of the codes this vehicle is giving are even correct. By the way this is a brand new VIN matched RCM since somebody had already removed the original RCM and replaced it with the wrong one so nobody can pull the original programming code and put it in this one.
JACK THANKS SO MUCH MAN , I THINK YOUR VIDEOS ARE GREAT PLEASE IF IT'S POSSIBLE COULD WE SEE SOME MORE VIDEOS AND THANKS SO MUCH THESE VIDEOS HELP SO MUCH PEOPLE !
HEY, WE GOT A 2010 MERCEDES GLK 350 THAT WAS IN A CRASH , AIR BAGS DEPLOYED , WE REPLACED THE PRE FUSEBOX, WHICH WAS BLOWN UP FROM CRASH EVENT FROM AIRBAG MODULE, WILL THE AUTEL SCANNER PROGRAM THE VEHICLE TO LET IT START... IT WONT CRANK, EVEN THOUGH WE REPLACE THE FUSE BOX
pedro l rivera negron works for Ford ecu as well. Most of them. There are a few that won't. Just like the as built data. For publishes it all for free except for a few.
Jack Meyers That’s great to hear. I’m a ford tech at a dealer and our factory IDS is a joke. Looking for something to do it all and the fact that the 906 BT can even do programming and PMI out of the box is a great fit.
Jackson Taylor I have ids and a vcm2 that collects dust. it's so primitive. Honestly if you were to open up ids and the Ford software on the autel it's word for word. Function for function identical. Autel had some features ids does not though. I have only had one car out of the hundreds I've done. A 2015 fusion that Ford had no published as built data for when I brought up the vin. The old pcm was dead so I paid for fmp and it ran through on its own. It was nothing I had seen before but it was a government vehicle. Not sure if that had anything to do with it. Other then that I've done all Ford and Mazda vehicles like this for about 3 years now. No pass thru. Just the 906. Occasionally I have to log into motorcraft for the free resources and install manually but between the 2 i get it done free. All the pid's , graphing and programming the autel offers makes fords a breeze to work on.
Jack Meyers Wait so most of the time you don’t even need to grab the manual calibration files from the motor craft website and as built stuff? That’s crazy What sold me was I looked up compatibility on Autels website and I searched 2018 F150 and it can even do stuff like 360 Camera Calibration which is quite an intricate thing for the IDS to do. Ordered my 906BT last night
Jackson Taylor yea. The tool itself has an app called function viewer. You can put year make and model and what you're trying to do and it will let you know if it's capable. Petty cool. And also yes when you go into pmi and start make sure the old module is in still. It reads it and then tells you too install the new module. Once you hit ok it will transfer the info 95 percent of the time. Just don't turn off the bt at any point during the process while switching the modules
I am looking into a better scan tool. I currently have a mk808, but I want a tool to do what your videos show. I work for a Ford Dealership. Do you have a website that I can check out? Or a Facebook page? Your videos are extremely informative. Thanks, Steve
thebigvol yea . Programming, electrical and drivability are in demand like crazy. The newer cars are starting to hit independent shops and a leaving the techs that never learned or evolved scratching their heads. My business is living proof. I get minimum 8 calls a day from shops with techs that have limited troubleshooting or programming experience. Figure I make on average $135 a call minimum and usually can be in and out within 45 min. I specialize in airbag systems and most body shops would rather leave the liability on me. Sometimes I make $2200 in a day replacing dashes , airbags , seatbelts and such. Not a bad living. It's always a good idea to learn and expand what you can do. A little advise . Don't get branded and learn only one manufacturer if possible. Jump on any opportunity to learn or experiment with every brand of car you can. The more you learn the more you're worth. Don't get me wrong I really like doing fords and how they give you the as built data for free online is a huge bonus but they are a small percentage of my overall work.
Jack Meyers, I have a question.. I'm still experimenting with my MS906BT, can you command more than one pid at a time? Say like, the reverse lights and high mount stop light?
thebigvol sometimes. Depends on the vehicle but they have to be in the same module. Most will give you a list in active tests menu. You can turn them on one at a time
Hey Jack just received my Autel MS906 BT today will it recalibrate the longitudinal sensor on a 2014 Fusion, as the shop programed the module but the ABS and traction control light is lit.
Jack just had a air bag control module that a shop replaced on a 2015 Mazda CX5 and I was wondering if the MS906BT will transfer the programing as in your Ford video from the original module. The OEM site only does the ECM & PCM with a pass-thru. And as with the Ford will the longitudinal sensor have to be re-calibrated on the Mazda. Thanks for your help.
RON COELHO Ford and Mazda are the same. you can do the Mazda for free also with the autel. Go to motocraft website . Then login scroll down and click free resources . Then as built data .put in the vin for the Mazda and you will find the as built data for the srs control module on the list. With the autel do auto read on the vin. Once you have the car loaded go to programming then programmable module installation. Select the airbag module. If it can't read the original and do the transfer like i showed it will tell you to manually enter the info. Go down the list and put In the characters from the as built data that matches the info the scanner asks for . For example the scanner will show something like 735-06-01 . Look at the as built list from the Ford website and find 735-06-01 and put in the numbers and letters it shows click next and repeat until the autel says complete. Your module is programmed. Then go back to abs , special functions and initialized ivds. That will set the g force sensors and a few others. You're done after that.
@@jackmeyers2911 just read this reply from 6 months ago. You have a good heart for putting information out like this. May this generosity be the cause of all calamities to be steered away from you and yours. Thanks
@@jackmeyers2911 thanks for all the great info! I have a 09 Ford Escape giving me a B1342 in the abs control module. Service info pretty much says replace module. I can communicate with it and it seems to work but abs and traction light stays on. Would I be able to get a used abs control module and reflash it or do I have to get a new one and perform the procedures you did in this video? I have a cardaq m and was tempted to try a used module and reflash it but wasn't sure if it was possible. Thanks for any advice on the matter!
Don Muscarella any of the new ones will work. The pro is the same as the bt except bigger. The elite comes with a j box but I prefer a different brand of jbox. Even last years 905 mini will do it all.
nice i have an older 908 was looking to upgrade to the 906bt for the price u cant go wrong! Anyone you suggest purchasing through ? local tool guys want way to much. Online is always a gamble !
Don Muscarella can't go wrong on Amazon. There is a seller out of Fresno I can recommend. I've bought 2 there. There return policy is great. I ordered a soldering station not too long ago on Amazon and the iron wouldn't heat. They sent me a return label I dropped it off at the post office and they had the money bank in my account the next morning. I don't know how but I've never been afraid to buy from them since.
thank you for the info and the informative videos! yeah if u can send me info on that buyer i would apreciate it. autotech1975@me.com is the email. thanks
Don Muscarella sorry for the delay the Amazon seller is motorzone. 318 sales 100% positive feedback as a seller and I just bought the otosys Im100 from him today.
