Replacing 4 motor and transmission mounts on a 2009 Mazda 3 to eliminating a driveline vibration or shudder we are experiencing at certain speeds. I noticed a bit of movement by the engine in the mounts and that some of them are dry and cracking so this was a starting point to perform a repair. Replacement mounts are fairly inexpensive and quite easy to replace so well worth the work.

My Mazda just got a new motor and it’s starting to jerk at certain speeds. I’m sure this is the cause, I will change this and my cv axle here in a few weeks

Sure if you ever have an older car this is something that could be worn out and need replacing.

OK, so this is most likely not something I would try to do, BUT...I feel like it's so good to watch videos like this because it helps get me more familiar with parts of the car I'm still afraid to touch. So thanks for the education :)

I could barely fix a dent or change the lights let alone this. Mind you I would like to have a space for tools as I'm into wood working and crafting... mostly minecrafting at the moment or actual tables :P Sure is dusty in there. How'd you know it was the oil filter what's causing it though? :O

So far this did not fix the vibration issue, but it did improve other things so it was not done in vain. I'm not usually the type to just change parts without being 100% sure it will solve a problem but in this case it is too difficult to diagnose so it is the cheaper, easier option since I do the work myself.

@@nothandsomebuthandy Ah gotcha, I was thinking it was with lots of experience you can kinda pinpoint it down, but figured when you said at the end that it's probing to see where the problem might be.

Haha some things I can find with my eyes closed, others I need a little trial and error. I'll update here when I do eventually find it.

It definitely made a difference in the car, it now shifts smoother and there are no more clunks when shifting to and from reverse and drive. But as for the vibration/shudder issue it did not fix that so I'm going to move on to the next possible cause.
