This is an amazing guide. Perfectly straightforward and detailed, but no unnecessary detail. Thank you!

Hey mate, for the 800GS it's advised to take the ABS sensor off the caliper before removing the wheel. There is a risk of snapping it off with the rotor while sliding the wheel out as the sensor protrudes in deeper than than the brakepads. No need to mention your wallet would be in a lot of pain if that were the case.

Good tip on the safety glasses and retaining rings, didnt use glasses once and ended up with the retaining ring lodged between my skull and eyeball, it was stuck there pretty good few cm, tried to take it out but ended up going to the emergency room since i didnt want to lose my eye, the girl who was on nightshift at the hospital lifted her hands up in the air saying no way is she touching that. Ended up waiting for a real eye doctor or surgeon or something for a few hours. Luckily no damage to the eye, and now i always wear safety glasses for everything that even slightly looks it could go sideways, be safe!

Damn, ouch! Yeah those retaining rings are definitely dangerous when they fly out

Great video, especially if you don’t have special tools to get the bearings out. Only thing I would do differently, I would unscrew the abs sensor and put it to the side before wiggling the rear wheel of the swingarm. Other that that, no nonsense know how 🤗

I always wondered what's the purpose of the spacer... What if you left it out ?

The bearings would be side loaded when torquing the axle nut and probably fail soon after. Or wheel damage may occur

Do a video comparing f800 to a Funduro please.
@NoNonsenseKnowHow
@NoNonsenseKnowHow 4 года назад
I actually did a short video talking about the two bikes before I sold my funduro. But it's a pretty crummy video. If you look on my channel it should be within the last like 15 or 20 videos. The guy I sold it to is pretty cool though so maybe I'll meet up with him sometime in the future and do a better video on the two bikes. Drop me a comment on the existing one I have and I'll do that for you

@@NoNonsenseKnowHow yeah I watched that but as a current Funduro owner I will be upgrading to a more powerful bike in a couple of years. I have 1 of these 3 bikes in mind, F800, R1200gs or Africa Twin.
@NoNonsenseKnowHow
@NoNonsenseKnowHow 4 года назад
I have heard really good things about the Africa twin. I would like to pick one up myself but don't have quite enough money for one yet. The f800 is is a good bang for the buck

About to change front wheel bearings on my f800gs. I've got the bearings but no new seals. Is it necessary to have new seals? Or could I use the old ones, cleaned and new grease on? Thanks!
@NoNonsenseKnowHow
@NoNonsenseKnowHow 2 года назад
If the old ones are in good shape and pliable then yes you can reuse them. Just be careful that you don't damage them when removing

One more question if it's ok! I bought bearings from skf to my rear wheel, but I can't find what seals I should buy? I know the you could get a kit with both seals and bearings, but I want to buy only the seals, do you know any part number on them? Thanks!

When you install the bearings, they rotate easy, correct? I got mine replaced by a shop and the tire is not free at all. Doesn’t roll at all when on the center stand. I took the wheel off and tried to feel the bearings and they don’t rotate at all. I didn’t try to force anything. I wonder what they did.
@NoNonsenseKnowHow

Yes should spin but a little stiff when new

@junaidbhatti4264 3 года назад
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow that was my initial thought. I will check again. The two spacers are in as far as I know. The shop is closed on Monday, so will take off the wheel and take it to him on Tuesday to make him check the bearing. They are not turning, i tried my finger to turn but I didn’t want to use any other object to turn it.

Seems nothing is made in USA anymore so always nice to see. Doesn't mean I have anything against foreign made products. And the tundra is made in USA. Not just assembled in USA but majority of the components on the truck are made in USA as well. Hope that helps clarify and glad the video was helpful
