So suddenly, the blower fan (AC/heater) just stopped working. What the heck? Now that it was getting hot, I had to get that fixed. Checked the fuses and relays but couldn't find the resistor. Checked all over the internet & found no info on where it was located on my 2014 QX60. Figured Nissan must keep that info locked away with all the launch codes. Took it to a repair shop & they spent 2 hours trying to find the resistor. Finally told'em I had to go & would bring it back. Eventually, I learned the resistor is built into the blower motor & was quoted over $1200.00 to replace it. 😢 Went over to NAPA & they had the exact OEM part for less than $200. Replaced it in less than 1 hour. Many thanks for such a GREAT video!

Thanks for this post. Had a rattle 2 years ago, turned out a mouse made a nest in the blower. Fast forward to this summer, had the same issue with the rattling, found your video, used it, removed the blower motor and another nest and all is good. First issue resulted in a, $400+ bill; this time cost me 35 minutes of my time. Thanks again.

Thanks for posting this! You saved me hundreds (per dealership quote)! My bro-in-law found this video for my 2014 Infiniti QX60… I pulled it apart, removed leaves, and reassembled in maybe 30 minutes… (I couldn’t get the clip out-broke a nail 🤣-but managed to maneuver the fan enough to get it out.) 🙏

Glad I could help! I like hearing people stories and hoping they can save them some money at the same time. Sorry to hear you broke a nail during the process but sound like you got it all back together again. Well i guess it was for a good cause lol. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.

Nissan charges $270 for their part. Purchased the part from auto parts store for $158 with a lifetime warranty. Even though the auto parts part had some negative reviews, it didn’t matter as it had a lifetime replacement warranty. Nissan part did not have such warranty and we know it will fail again costing me another $270 down the road. Easy decision and great video to perform the job! Thank you!!!!!

Glad to hear you were able to save 112.00 on the part. That sounds like a good deal life time warranty cant go wrong there. Thanks for watching, I am glad you found the helpful.

Thanks so much - this video showed up in my you tube today. For years when my blower is on Auto and full fan it was sounding like a bi-plane. In the past i had accessed from the firewall "port" under the hood and shopvac'd. Full removal - your way was so easy and straightforward. I found some pine cones and quite a lot of soot on the fins- which i steam cleaned and q-tipped. Runs smooth now. BTW - someone left two top screws out (the dealer) and likely i solved a rattle too.

Wow! Thank you so much. I used this tutorial video to figure out my blower motor. Of note I do not work on cars really ever. You made it look possible. Fan started sounding super loud and not flowing well. I was able to follow this easily and found out the fan had a bunch of stuff in there cleaned it out. Put the fan back in and walla works perfectly again! All on my lunch hour in -5 degrees F outside

Saved me at least $170 replacement blower I got at Napa! Plus whatever the labor would have been to bring it in. I would say the clip on the glove box I am glad you showed it snapped out....I was nervous it wasn't suppose to being it held in there pretty tight. Everything went back in slick. Showing all the little things light popping the trim and where the screws were literally made it car illiterate proof. Thank you!

Thank you for a great video. Nissan wants a ridiculous price for the part and labor. My 2002 f150 still has the original fan blower motor. So tired of the expensive cars with crap parts. There’s a reason the car industry is now making more money on service than the selling of cars these days.
@TDLDIY

I am glad I was able to help you save some money. Yes I do agree sometime they charge so much for a somewhat easy job and the parts ends up way cheaper them the labour to do it. Sometimes it necessary to go to the dealer. Yes that seems to happen alot cheap quality parts so they have you coming back for more. Thanks for watching.

Excellent video My 2013 infinity JX35 blower makes noise when on. I think it’s only debris or leaves in the fan . I’ll attempt soon and see. I wonder if you can access from under the hood to clean it from the top instead of taking whole thing out ?
@TDLDIY
@TDLDIY 3 года назад
I am not exactly sure but there will be a fresh air duct coming in most likely under the hood. But if you go straight to the blower motor it will have sucked in some debris and be catch up there most likely. If you have a vacuum and compressed air clean up any debris if any and blow some air to see if any thing else gets knocked loose.
@LeRoy1231000
@LeRoy1231000 3 года назад
@@TDLDIY it was much easier to access from under the glove box anyways . To much stuff in the way up top. Took about 45 min and I cleaned the blower while I had it out . Lots of leaves in it . Thanks for the video !

Thank you so much for an outstanding video describing how to access the QX60 blower motor. Our 2015 QX60 started making clacking noises a few weeks ago whenever we engaged the HVAC fan, but ONLY when the engine was running! I thought it could be the blower behind the glove box. Thanks to your video, I was able to quickly determine that it wasn't the problem. Instead, it was one of the fans in the dual fan assembly that sits behind the radiator. I disconnected power to the problem fan until I receive a new fan assembly which is available online from many vendors. BTW, Infiniti dealer wants $378.89 just for the part, but you can find it online for around $200. I don't know if you have a video for replacing the Radiator Fan Assembly, but here is a pretty good one that I will be following as soon as I get the part. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9rvpiaeAjsc.html Thanks again for a great tutorial!

Thank you for watching my video and i am glad you were able to find to source of the issue. I do in fact have a video on the Radiator Fan Assembly as my had the same issue. Here is the video i did: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tonLZteh-Tk.html Have you replaced your fan assembly yet? If so how hard did you find it? I think it is ok for most users to be able to complete but the hardest part will be wiggling the old fan out. Best of luck when replacing the assembly.

I have QX60 and it blow air through vents intermittently, off and on sometimes. But ac and heat work. Just acts weird. And I hear the air to on high. But nothing coming out. But it’ll be on for a little bit.
@TDLDIY
@TDLDIY 3 года назад
could be some of the valves that devret the air in the ducts. maybe they are broken and are sometime stuck closed. not allow air to come thru, and allowing you to hear the fan to work. If it's the fan that intermittently works I would say maybe the blower motor is failing. I hope thing might help you out.
@talos910
@talos910 3 года назад
@@TDLDIY so I would have to open the dash to see the vents. I know for a fact it’s not the blower motor failing. Cause while it slowly loses air I checked and it’s spinning strong.

what about no heat blows but no heat could it b the blower resistor? thanks
@TDLDIY
@TDLDIY 3 года назад
If your blower works you will have air pushing through the vent, If you cant adjust the fan speed it would be the blower motor resistor. If those things work, and you don't have heat i would check your coolant level see if its low. It could possibly be the problem ensure you don't have any leaks. Another issue could be the thermostat if its not working properly it could be stuck open not allowing the engine to heat up and prevent the coolant to bring the warmth through the heater core allowing you to have warm air inside the vehicle. or possible a bad heater core. I would say the most common problem for most vehicle would be a bad thermostat. Free and easy 1st step is check for coolant leaks and if the coolant is low. I hope this information helps you.
