REPLACING PORCH BEAM
Over last 120 years the front porch beam in my house @ 1534 Princeton Ave in Trenton NJ in April 2021 got completely rotted. I started to take it apart, but after a while realized, that the weight of entire front porch roof is supported by the aluminum casing, the beam was no more. I stopped the demolition.
Several days later Jurek Gargas helped me to jack up and lift the porch roof up and install the new beam made of three 2x8 boards. Jurek did not charge me for it, even I was ready to pay him $250-300, just like the other times he helped me to replace the porch beam on the other houses.
Couple days later I cased the new beam with aluminum fascias and installed vinyl soffits.

I like the way the video was made of the repair process, but would have liked to have seen close-ups of the damage.

Why the hell do you happen to have a big long span sheet metal brake just in your garage? Was it rented or you do that for a living? Im gonna have to use 2x and hinges myself.. cant find anyplace that rents those long deals..

Yes, I do siding installation, there is always trim around the windows, fascia, beams, etc., to be cased in aluminum. That's why I have the benders. I belive there is a place on Whitehorse Ave - Auxiliary Services - they repair and sell used benders.
