Totally did find it helpful... I just bought a 2024 Trax, and didn't even know there was a key.... then when I saw someone else show how to use the key, I didn't seem to have them, then I saw this video and realized I have a key in each of the two fobs... lol, thanks.

I was surprised how non-obvious the process was for the Chevy key. I've had keyless remotes for years and this is the first one I needed to watch a video to correctly replace the battery. Thanks for the video!

Thank you! I would recommend keeping the non-battery half of the remote facing open end up so that the little circuit board it contains does not fall out.

i found this video helpful BUT i wanted to say that using the key to separate the two halves at 0:40 does work but only if you be careful to not insert the key very far.

There is a specific place for the key end to fit for opening the case, also a place for the key end to pry out the old battery, and the negative side goes down. Other than that, perfect video.

Wait. For the newer types you cited insert the new battery “positive side down”. Shouldn’t that be negative side down? Or “outer casing outward”?

I have a 2020 Chevrolet Sonic. The battery seems smaller, and is not the 2032. I have not been able to find one. Is the 2026 the next smaller size?

I have 2 -2012 GM vechiles and the batteries where both 3.2 volts is that normal

My dash board was saying change battery in key fob. Tried that. Now the car went from everything turning on and not starting to no lights at all. Is it the car battery? Car struggles to start when it sits for 2-3 days. Door locks barely work either key fob.

There was corrosion on the battery. Cleaned it off. Jumped it. Car started right up. 😅
