I have a 95 Toyota Camry LE 2.2 L engine 4 doors and I'm just trying to learn how to do car repairs or take it to a mechanic and not get ripped off and try to see how much parts are to buy and then pay a mechanic to install it
Thanks for watching! That's honestly how I got into doing my own repairs! There are so many shady mechanics out there, it's hard to find a good honest shop. And when you do, they are so expensive anymore! The repair in this video would have cost around $400-600 at a mechanics shop. Parts were around $180/200 so doing simple stuff when you have time sure can save a lot of money.
@@KhaiMahase Thanks for watching! I'm not a certified mechanic, but in my opinion it really depends. If you don't mind it being loud, the exhaust isn't getting into the cab, or it's not affecting how the car runs then you don't need to... But, If you want to quiet it down, have to meet emissions laws in your state, or it's causing the car to run poorly then you should fix the exhaust. It's easiest to replace the cat & down pipe together since they sell it all together that way as a direct replacement. But you could always build something custom if you want to delete the cats altogether www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=4959936&cc=1273520&pt=5808&jsn=395 www.ebay.com/itm/191676345934?fits=Submodel%3ALE%7CYear%3A1996%7CEngine+-+Liter_Display%3A2.2L%7CModel%3ACamry%7CMake%3AToyota&hash=item2ca0ccee4e:g:AoAAAOSwB6JgG4Ts
Look under Catalytic Converter www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/toyota,1996,camry,2.2l+l4,1273520,exhaust+&+emission I believe I bought this one for around $170 www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=4959936&cc=1273520&pt=5808&jsn=857
Thanks for watching! Think I had some extras from a different project. However a hardware store is always the best bet if you can't reuse the old ones.
