I know you posted this video quite some time ago, but thank you. I have an '06 A3 3.2L with 170k miles that I've owned for 10 years and the rear left door will not lock, and I'm feeling like this is a pretty easy job now that I've been able to watch your video. Appreciate it
Thanks for the video. while a little tricky and awkward at times all worked as you said it would. I had to lube and vice grip the bolts holding the unit it but hey it is a 14-15 year old car. I can live with marred bolts. Cost: Actuator unit from EBay = $154 Star Bits - 2.99 WD40 = 6.00 Small vice grip - 9.99 All said with 3 trips to laptop to double check process, 2 trips to get tools, I was done in about 2 hours. I'm very novice and have crappy tools, but watching the door work perfectly again was well worth it. Thanks,
Thanks this really helped me out. That stupid yellow and black clip. You have to open it up all the way into the slots of the main body to make it easier. Also removing the cable from the assembly make the space issue easier to deal with. Got it all fixed and found out my right rear door actuator is also broken
You skip some really useful bits. Like how do you remove the black plastic cover attached to the cable. How do you remove the cable. Might be obvious to an expert but that's the content us noobs need.
I've spent hours trying to clip the door pull on the back right door and could not get it. I gave up. Frustrating! At least I replaced the front two actuators just fine and they are working.
