Anyone doing this job may want to first think about draining the oil before disassembling. I wouldn't recommend using steel screw drivers to prise apart aluminium mating surfaces. I pack the space between the seals with grease.
Thank you for posting this, there's nothing better than watching it happen compared to looking at exploded diagrams. I drain my trans oil every year, looking for telltale water coming from that drain bolt at the bottom. Each time I wonder if it is time to replace those seals. What prompted you to replace those seals?
WELL, THE SAIL DRIVES WERE OUT OF THE BOAT WHILE THE ENGINES WERE BEING STRIPPED OF RUST AND PAINT AND THE SAIL DRIVE DIAPHRAGMS WERE WELL WORN AND NEEDED REPLACING. LIKE YOU I HAD NO WATER IN THE OIL BUT I HAD ALL THE PARTS READY SO I JUST DID IT BECAUSE IT WAS EASIER TO DO ON THE HARD STAND. THERE WERE MANY THINGS I DID WHILE I WAS OUT OF THE WATER
