This is part 1 or a 4 part series on replacing the thru hulls on a Lagoon 38 catamaran. In this first part I show how I removed the old thru hulls and fittings. In part 2 I will show glassing in the holes from thru hulls no longer needed, in part 3 I show what I did to prepare to install all the new parts including making fiberglass backing plates, and finally in part 4 I show how I installed all the new hardware. I hope someone can take something useful from these. If it helps please hit "like" and please subscribe to see my upcoming videos. Be sure to check out my other sites as well

1ST of all i like your videos a lot. i can see where they will help a lot. on your tool list. they make a hose tool. its like a ice pick with a 90 degree bend in it and it makes removing hoses very easy. you can get them on any tool truck i like USA Tools they seem to be a little cheaper. harbor freight might have them as well.they are kinds like your pick but much better.

After all that work , lifting the boat out of the water, removing panels, hatches, etc., to get access to and replacing the seacocks/valves you put the old hoses back on. Everything's apart, replace. thats like guys who replace an engine with the old mounts cause they look ok.

Mazda rx7 The owner was going to replace several of the hoses at a later time. He was busy at the time with other out of the water projects. But you make a good point while it is all apart it would be a good time to replace the hoses as well. Thanks for the input.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills because the electric panel in the background doesn't have the wood trim like in the beginning! lol Great video tho thanks!

Thanks Wayne...My situation is I have seacock water intake for engine cooling that is stuck in the closed position. It will only open about 30-45 degrees, not enough to allow water into the engine. Is there a way to unstick it without having to replace it and taking the boat out of the water ? I have a 38' silverton which is a pain to pull out.

Scott W The only thing i can think of is to have a diver try to clean it. I would not force it though. Hate to say it but sounds like you have a haul out in your future.
