Advice: For people doing this, and is unable to take out the manifold, there is a bracket underneath the manifold with 3 screws, you would have to unbolt one of the bolts connected to the transmission/engine. (You can't see the bolts but you can feel it) Highly suggest having pliers or needle nose tool to remove the hoses connected to the manifold (one of the hoses with the small circle ring clamp, NOT the hose clamps is a PITA, recommend having some elbow grease for it) Also recommend using the needle nose pliers to remove plastic clips holding wiring harness and recommend removing the plastic clips connecting from the power battery terminal for more flexibility. Cause there are things that isn't shown in the video that most people just don't show. Removing the starter is easy, just 2 bolts and wire connections. I did not jack the car up and did everything from the top. Took me a solid 2 and a half hour to finish everything and put everything back together.
Helpful. Thank you. Word to the wise. Be careful when hitting the polished mounting surface of the intake mani with wrench handles. It can be dented and cause and air leak.
Mont, Is your car a 2015 honda civic.? I have a 2015 Honda civic ex. Your video is the first one I’ve seen where the starter replacement is installed from the top. Everyone else is installing the starter from the bottom. Also you starter looks smaller than the one I purchased.
Mine wouldn’t do anything or make any noise sometimes, would take a few key strokes to “wake it up” and it sounded crunchy if that makes sense. Threw in a new unit from rock auto and it sounds like a Honda should :)
Hey bro I have a 2015 civic si sedan, I’m having a problem starting it up it makes a click noise when I push the start button to start it up it won’t turn on I changed the battery and it’s still doing the same you think it’s the starter??
Question, I have a 2013 Honda Civic si coupe. when I got to turn my car over I get full power, all lights come up and I get a single click with no turnover. Is this the same issue do you think?
It could possible be the starter but also I will check if you can get a scanner too and sometime it can diagnosis it as well. Does the dashboard flashes when you try to turn it on?
Bro would you happen to know what “Check PGM-FI” means? It literally came on for the first time this morning along with the check starter notification with my coupe SI. Any advice?
Either your fuel injection main relay has went out or it’s starting to go bad. Might have to replace your engine control system on the car. Because this will affect your starter as well
If you have a k24 SI that rattling noise is the timing chain tensioner. It can be fixed but Honda themselves said it wouldn't cause any issues. Mines done it for 5 years now and it did it when my buddy owned the car brand new.
