OME makes GREAT springs - I'm certain you still enjoy them - mine, with the full spring pack & stock shackles, netted a 3-1/ 4" lift. Indeed, Long Arms would improve your geometry, but the fox shocks are a great investment!
@2AOverland
@2AOverland 2 года назад
Yep I agree! I haven’t had an issue with the OME leafs whatsoever and our IRO long arm has been a game changer with our shocks and Metalcloak springs too!

Before you go cutting off your bump stop buckets. Disconnect your drag link and sway bar if possible. And you can lower the axle a bit more. And by the way bump stops are very handy when needed.
@2AOverland
@2AOverland 3 года назад
The sway bar was disconnected but I honestly didn’t think about disconnecting the track bar 😅 I was so fed up with fighting with them lol good insight for when I do anything in the future thanks! And I am gonna come up with a bump stop solution sometime soon, either go all out and do some type of hydro/air bump setup, do the acos from JKS or weld a nut onto a washer and weld it onto my cut bump can so I can thread a rubber bump stop onto that spot again. I really appreciate you watching though, and all these tips help me a ton since I’m just a normal guy working on the XJ 😂.

I just ordered the metalcloak springs and control arms, jks adjustable track bar, stinkyfab aluminum steering and Fox shocks. For the rear I ordered the same leaf pack as you and the ironman fab shackle relocation bracket and 1 inch shackle and also there steering brace and spacer. I think that's about it
@2AOverland
@2AOverland 3 года назад
That’s an extremely beefy setup man! 🥩 you shouldn’t have any problems with that! I did talk to metalcloak about their control arms and they told me cause of the geometry of 4.5in coils and their control arms it would make a sorta rough ride. They suggested to me either long arms or control arm drop brackets 😬. I figured it shouldn’t be much of a difference from their control arms and any other brands right? You will love that setup though. My heel rides like a dream on the highway

I have enough suspension travel that I don't have any trouble removing my springs as long as the sway bar is disconnected. Which it always is. :)

Thanks a ton for watching! Rubicon express was the second choice for me to be honest! Anything would of been better than my 6yr old rough country leafs and coils lol. But with all the weight the Jeep has in the back for our trips I really liked that completely flat helper leaf the OME pack had. I love that you can get the Rubicon Express coils and springs on Amazon though 😂 so convenient.

Thanks a ton for watching man, my first impressions are these MetalCloak coils are way better than my old rough country ones and what I like is they’re a true 4.5in cause they designed the ride height with a weight in front like a bumper and winch. But I think the ride quality is limited by my short arms though 😬 I’m definitely looking into a long arm kit to get the full potential out of the new coil springs.
@joeys3580
@joeys3580 3 года назад
@@2AOverland Right on. I have Rubicon Express 4.5'' coils in the front and want it to stay the same height, but would love an increase in ride quality. Check out Rock & Road Performance 3 Link kit, incredible design and local to me.

@2AOverland 3 года назад
Same here man it’s decent on the highway but in the city it’s definitely not the greatest. Ive heard of them from when that guy installed their kit on bleepin Jeep, that one and the IRO kit are my choices lol. But I like that their crossmember is 1/4inch!

I’m concerned about the lack of bumpstops. You need those to save the shocks. The shocks won’t live if they are the bumpstop. (They aren’t supposed to limit travel)
@2AOverland
@2AOverland 3 года назад
You do have a point, it’s been a long time since we’ve wheeled to the point to bottom out the shocks but I do want to save the shocks for as long as possible before a rebuild. Ultimately I wanna go with hydro or air setup but that will require a lot of work 😬. Ill end up welding a thick washer with a nut on the cut bumps so I can thread a bump on there for the mean time. I just needed them shorter so I can fit the coil back on since they’re longer than my old springs. I heard the ACOS by JKS is a good system too.
