2 years late here but I always wondered the little tricks and shit for you guys shaggin equipment around the oil patches, don't see that much here in the lower 48 being on the west coast away from the oil industry. Always enjoy watching good ops in their respective fields doin what they do best

Had never tried this till today, had always just set the deck down on the wooden ramps I carry, pull pins, lower neck until pins line up, pin in, winch back up and pin up. This is a great alternative. Just had to have the shack way back since it's so light. Thanks!!!

I drove trucks in the US for over 38 years. I am retired now. I started driving small produce trucks, to ARMY trucks, to Tow Trucks, to dirt trucks, too teaching at a school. Including 25 years of construction trucking up to Heavy Haul. I am envious. After watching many of your videos and how you drive and handle traffic, you got it dude ! Carry on. Rubber side down, shiny side up...

One old bed truck driver, told me they used to load pipe on a trailer using the winch line. Seems like a lot of work.

Информативное и познавательное видео. Очень хорошее оснащение тягача лебёдкой. И полуприцеп удобный. Можно и контейнеры таким же образом грузить, и другие грузы. Класс!!!

yeah you can do this trick with anything as long as its heavy enough. some light stuff it doesn't work out. but then you can always do it with the winch on the truck by just setting the trailer down on its legs and pinning it. just a pain cause if you go out with your line already at the back of the truck you have to winch it in. unhook trailer and deal with neck then re hook then pull out line again

Anything is possible if your passionate about it. A auto would work THERES no doubt about it. Just take a little getting used to it. But just like a operator in a new truck, in no time you’ll out do guys with all their limbs I’m sure

Why do they always lie about the weights, Driver asks, how much does it weigh, rig hand asks how much can you haul, you answer 50000, they say right around 50000. Used to drive those big yellow rigs called Rolligons, tailroll eight feet high. We had hydraulic winch no dogs. Power in power out. Did not tailroll many loads. Usually built a snow ice ramp, bed trucks would tailroll up to our deck and we would winch on from there. Fork lift skidded a tank up ramp one time and he was having trouble with it, finally got a line on it and sucked it up ramp and onto deck. Pulled away from ramp and it looked like I had 4 flat tires on trailer. Aired trailer tires up, to where tires were round, looked in tank, about 3 feet of frozen mud. Foreman said haul it, I told him I didn’t buy tires and got paid by the hour so no problem. Made it with no breakdowns. Winch truck backed up ramp to unload, hooked bridle on, started winching and broke loading ear off tank skid, truck driver came back and asked, how much that fucker weighed, I said 50000, that’s what all our loads weighed. Ended up skidding off with loader..like your vid’s, if I was still working I have already picked up a few tricks, that would have been helpful 20 years ago.

How does an automatic transmission work to spot equipment Tight Hole Teddy

so the t800 kw has a pto driven hydraulics off the tranny and only works when the flywheel is spinning, majority of winch trucks run like this. trucks like the c500 and other square hoods have the rad up high enough the hydraulics work of the crank of the engine giving you hydrolics all the time. the auto runs the same but unlike a standard you can rev up the engine and feather the clutch to put the load down faster, the auto you have to idle out from under the load but most of the time the load touches down on the back and you kick the winch into free spool mode and with the band brake on the winch drive ahead till the loads closer to coming off the roll the dawgs in on the winch and continue on slo mo. autos do work they are just slower in my opinion. most of alberta's big beds are auto, and i haven't seen it on a texas bed so i couldn't say, i personally would hate it standard all the way for me

Pulling your pins when you're out hooking up your sling saves getting out once you've got the load tail boarded and you'll look like an allstar. Your sling will also last longer and be less of a bitch to get on skids if you only hook onto the bottom 3 Matt's instead of fucking it by putting it around all 6 Matt's.
@TimelapseTruckerRTOT
@TimelapseTruckerRTOT 4 года назад
+Jayson Allen I don’t pay for slings. And it’s fine. Beats chipping ice out of the hikes to throw a chain over just in case it comes apart when you only grab 2 bottom mats. This way saves time. And yes I said in the video I got carried away and should have pulled pins first. But I wanted to show the part where the trailer floats on the wheel so I’m getting out twice anyway
